I just bought a 2008 Grand Touring Roadster and it must have been owned by a blind person. All four wheels have curb rash. I was going to have the factory wheels refinished but I thought some new wheels may be in order. I am an old guy so a lot of what I have seen doesn't appeal to me, it's a matter of generational taste. I do like the BBS look but do not want to spend that kind of money. I was looking at these rims http://www.ebay.com/itm/AODHAN-AH02-...RV1m2z&vxp=mtr
I was also thinking of buying 4 of the 8.5x18 wheels and running 235/45/18 all the way around so I can rotate the tires. Does anyone know anything about these wheels? The 8.5 wheels have a 12mm offset and the 9.5 have a 15mm offset.
Keep shopping. Those wheels look okay, but I think you need to reconsider the offsets. IIRC, the wheel edge may stick out too far and cause you to have to get your fenders rolled. It's been a loooong time since I've researched wheels, but those offsets don't seem quite right to me. I'll have to check the tire calculator and play around with numbers.
As for running the same size wheels, you may end up throwing a code on your Roadster since I believe your current OEM setup is staggered. Didn't they come with 18" wheels up front and 19" wheels in the rear?
Have you browsed the media section or looked at the wheel section to just get a general idea of what others are doing? I think it would really help you if you did a lot of reading and browsing first.
Then go to the main wheels and tires subsection (where you started this thread) and look at the large blue lettering that identifies the calculator. Click on it.
I do understand about set back. I have read here that the stock setback is 35mm. Is this correct? As for my tire selection, the calculator says the fronts would be 1.35% taller and the rears would be 1.35% shorter. I believe this is within the parameters for the traction control system. If I am wrong please point this out for I am new to Z's. I do appreciate your time on this.
Based on OP's comments, the car is likely equipped with Touring V2 (as opposed to the Grand Touring 18/19s).
Yes/No?
In any event, OP - hard to make any recommendations without knowing how you (intend to) drive on them. If you're just streeting the car and don't plan on track use or anything higher stress than an occasional romp in the woods, you're "probably" fine with the reps....but at least buy the "name brand" reps like Varrstoen or.... well, I can't even name any of 'em, sorry.
If it's budget you are concerned about but ALSO want to get highest quality for not-so-much $$, then the BEST wheel lineup to look at would be Enkei. If you want to know why, try this link to something I just posted a day or two ago to get the reason I recommend Enkei over all other medium price wheels:
Recommend shopping around, as wheels, next to tires, are THE critical link between you and the road. Look on Tire Rack, Discount Tire, etc as well as visit the other threads here for the various wheels out there.

According to Tire Rack the coupes had the rear 19's the roadsters had 18's
Nice looking ZR. The OEM wheels are actually a b!tch to touch-up, although I found a VW paint that was pretty close and I used when I had mine. The problem is that the silver top layer is translucent and is applied over a black base. Unless you respray the whole wheel(s) with a solid color it just looks bad. There are some very talented wheel repair guys/shops out there, though, and you might get lucky and find one.
IMO, the OEM Rays Nismo and Track V2 (GT) wheels look great on a ZR, especially the dark gray against the paint color on your car.
EDIT: What's the Alfa flag doing on your wall? Got one hidden somewhere?
