Question What color lug nuts?

Ok..so I have a 05 base PPW and I just ordered these silver Enkei Kojins. I'm going to buy some kind of locking lug nuts for them(probably Gorilla but if anyone has any suggestions feel free to say) and after looking at a pics of silver wheels in the Nismo, Enkei and even the Rota P45 threads I can't quite figure out which color lug nuts I should use. I'm leaning towards black...buuutt...what do you guys think?

My Rays LMGT4's have a similar look, and I went with black nuts. these, specifically:

Amazon.com: McGard 65554BK Chrome/Black SplineDrive Wheel Installation Kit (M12 x 1.25 Thread Size) - For 5 Lug Wheels: Automotive Amazon.com: McGard 65554BK Chrome/Black SplineDrive Wheel Installation Kit (M12 x 1.25 Thread Size) - For 5 Lug Wheels: Automotive

At the time, they had a returned set available, and IIRC, they were around $55.

Thanks Dean....black is definitely what I'm learning toward. Looks like those McGard have doubled in price since you got them...I like them though. Choices choices.

I got them for that price because they were previously purchased and returned by another amazon customer. Looked brand new and the bags inside were sealed, so I guess they ordered the wrong thread. Worth the $, either way, as they're very nice quality, and have a lifetime warranty.

Ive been eyeballing those wheels also they seem to make them in a good size for the Z... Red will stand out, black will be subtle... You doing 18x9.5 square with 255/40 front 275/40 rear? Or a different tire size combo?

Those are the tire sizes I'm going with but after going back and forth on a square set up I decided I really like the way it looks with concave in the back and regular up front...so 8.5 in front and 9.5 in back. Yeah, red is probably to flashy for me...black is definitely what I'm leaning toward.

Not the best pic, and the wheels are filthy, but you get the idea:

Skip the McGards, get the Gorillas.

Why? I bought some chrome ones for one of my Alfa's, and they rusted in a few months. At least they were inexpensive.

$9o plus shipping, this is where i bought mine. came with key, lugs and valve stems. i like how they have the spinning collars... wont mess up paint on the wheels as much

i had the gorillas and the tards at discount tire cross threaded 2 of them, after i cleaned up the studs i elected to get the steel mcgards, not to mention the key is different so not everyone with a gorilla key can get your lugs off

Thanks Travlee...they look good but are more than I want to spend. I've had Gorillas on my Honda for 10 years and have had good luck with them...no cross threading or change in color or anything so will probably just go with these:
Amazon.com: Gorilla Automotive 71623NBC "The System" Acorn Black Chrome Wheel Locks (12mm x 1.25 Thread Size) - For 5 Lug Wheels: Automotive Amazon.com: Gorilla Automotive 71623NBC "The System" Acorn Black Chrome Wheel Locks (12mm x 1.25 Thread Size) - For 5 Lug Wheels: Automotive

If I run into any problems with them I'll step up to the McGards.

Dcains- your LGMT4's look awesome...wish I could get a brand new set of those these days that didn't cost like $5000...and you're right...the black looks best because the holes are so deep....lots of shadow so black just blends in. Perfect for me.

On a related note I spent an hour this afternoon following this thread: https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-...ring-tpms.html

I've got a bit of a kink on my neck but found and freed the connector already. I can't stand to have any lights on my dash so now I'm ready to immediately reset my TPMS the day I get my new wheels. I'll post up when I've got everything on.

Thanks again for all the help guys,
Shawn

I got my LMGT4's for ~$1300, and you'll see them for sale in that range once in a while. Took me about a year, but they're the only wheels I wanted. Wheels this light (18 lbs) make a big difference in how the car feels.

^^^ This.

Or in my case, LMZ5 FTW! 19x9/10 20# per (very light for a 19). (Granted, gotta run 1# lb spacers up front but all good still). Best wheels I've owned for my Z33s. Way better even than my V3s, Z34Ns, Volk SFW, and assorted many-others.

And I got 'em NOS just last year at an amazing price!
