Default Best polish for uncoated aluminum wheels?

What's the current preferred polish for uncoated aluminum wheels? The wheels on my BMW are starting to loose their mirror-finish, and I'd like something to get it back. Thanks in advance.

Im also on a hunt for some decent polish. While I havent personally used Mothers polish, I have heard some pretty good things about it

I've used Mother's Aluminum and Mag and highly recommend it. If the wheels are in good condition, it will take them back to the finish you want. Plus it is rather cheap and easy to find.

People have said that Jewlers polish works extremely well to get a mirror finish, however I have no experience with it

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Mother's stuff is usually good stuff. Amazon has the larger 10-ounce size for $9.99, so I just ordered a container.

I picked up some of that stuff.

My wheel were WAYYYY past needing a polish. Not the shiniest I have seen them, but not bad for $10 and 30 minutes of elbow grease.

I also hit a couple things in the engine bay quick.

Mother's, used it on several sets of wheels. Turns out mirror like.

I tried the Mother's this afternoon on one wheel, and the results are great. Back to a mirror finish in a few minutes. I didn't have any scratches or swirls to remove, just some very light oxidation, but it seem like the polish cuts very well without much effort. I'll get the rest done this weekend and finish up with a coat of wax.

can you seal them like you do paint? my detailer told me to hit my exhaust tips with left over opticoat and it would keep them clean

Might work, not sure, though. Your exhaust is likely stainless, and I'm not sure if opticoat would stop aluminum for oxidizing. I've got a brand new syringe of the stuff, but haven't ever actually used it on any of my cars. I enjoy the whole process of waxing.

I'll have to give it a try. Bought it maybe a year ago when one of the vendors here had a good deal on it.
