What tyres? I have read conflicting reports about 18x9.5 +20 fitting 275/40 on rear without rolling fenders. Would you say it was a close run thing? Do you still have the stock 20mm perpendicular lip? Maybe someone rolled them already?
at +15 there was a slight rub with a 275/40-18 on the back of I8aCobra’s car, not enough to roll the fenders. With +20, there is no issue.
What's hard to swallow is the naked maths. The stock 245/45 tyre on the stock 18x8 +30 is only about 8mm inside the lip of the rear guard. The 275/40 has very much the same sidewall profile on 18x9.5+20 rim = 29mm shift outboard. It can only fit if the wheel swings inboard as it rises by 20mm. Seems like a lot! I am pretty sure mine is not lowered.

Tires are Firestone Firehawk Indy 500. They are not too close, the fit is very good. Have absolutely no rubbing issues at all. The car does still have stock lip, they have not been rolled. I am only the 2nd owner on the car and the previous owner took pride in keeping the car completely stock. It only has 21K miles on it so my stock suspension might not sag as much as one with many more miles on it.
I read the same conflicting reports about this combination fitting but I decided to bite the bullet and it all worked out great.

Thanks for the report. Would you do me a solid and photograph up and under of the rear arch so I can see where the rim and tyre sits please?

I rarely rub, and only when I hit a big road depression.
Only reason I ever had to roll fenders was when I put on 9.5 +15 with 275s as indicated by others above. And even then it was only when encountering compression inducing bumps. Of course, the upside of a roll n' seal is that I can now run almost anything and do....285/35-19 without so much as a sound.
The fitments on these cars have been worked out for a long time so it's wise not to overthink sizing that has withstood 15 years of Z33 historical fitments that work.
Figured I’d just update the thread since it became active again recently. I am running the exact same tire size as Mrd03 and I have no rubbing issues either
