Default Ideal tire size for 16" Rims

What is the ideal tire size for a 16" rims? I am planning to order this 16-inch AR883 Maverick American Racing Wheels for my red 2007 Nissan 350Z Touring Roadster. Any advice?

Why? Ideal would be scrapping this idea and shopping for 18's at minimum.

Why 16s??

Well, if you had to...

255/50 and 275/50 to maintain rolling diameter. Welcome to state of the art, 1988.

But guess what? Those sizes unavailable.

At least go 17s 255/45 & 275/45 (best sizes over stock; of which, there are also no tires available).

Seriously, if you're starting fresh with a new set of tires and wheels, do as recommended by terrasmak, above.... 18s with 255/40 & 275/40 (or OE 18" size on at least 9/10" wheels)

Will 16"s even clear the stock non-Brembos? I've test fit a 355mm BBK under stock 18"s and it BARELY cleared the barrel. OE non-Brembos use a 320mm rotor (granted a sliding caliper does have a lower profile than a opposed piston). 1" = 25.4mm, so I'd think a 16" wheels would only clear ~305mm brakes, maaaaabe 315mm with the smaller caliper.

Laff, this thread got me thinking what it would look like for a 33 to wear a set of AR "classic hot rod" wheels from back in the day. So, while I should be working, I went to AR's site and guess what?

Oh yeah! Polished 200S wheels! My favorite wheels from, oh, 1974.

OK, how about some Salt Flat wheels?!

What hot rod fantasy doesn't include a set of the standards of the day, TORQ THRUST?!

Then, there's the close-to-Corvette Rally wheels!! All these needs are the chrome trim rings!

Hmmmmm, wonder if I kin git me some Cragar S/S' for my 33?

OK, sorry for threadjacking.... back to work now. Hahahahahaha.
