What's the ideal tire/wheel size for a Z?
Hi guys, so I just picked up my 04' Touring, and now I want to get some rims. I was looking at Tirerack.com, but notice that their tire/wheel packages all come with the same size for all 4, and looking at other members here, they keep their back wheels wider than their front, which is what I want.
I want to get 19's, and I was wondering what the favored size and offsets were for 19" wheels. Would 19x10.5 Rear, 19x9.5 Front work?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

umm, no.. don't close the thread. Why close the thread? Isn't the Wheels & Tires forum the correct forum to post a Wheel & Tire question?
I'm asking for some ideas, no need to be an arrogant ***. Id like the advantages and drawbacks, and some offset ideas (I'm not too familiar with offsets)

yes +22 is for all 4.

I went with the same width all around but different aspects.
275/35 front 275/40 rear, a non staggered setup makes the car handles better. Both are on 18x9.5 +15 enkei rpf1's.
In hindsight I would have gone with a slightly less aggressive offset in front so that the edge would be just flush instead of very slightly outside the fender. Back looks perfect though IMO.

^^ I went with a more conservative setup, keeping the same widths (245 front and rear) but a staggered overall diameter (aspect ratio 40 front on and 45 rear on 18”s) to keep within VDC guidelines. As you point out, the same widths front and rear provide more neutral handling.
Question: Do you experience any “bump steer” with 275’s on the front?

if u want 9.5f 10.5r go with +22 all around thats the most common and for best look the toyo t1r 255/285 if u want a bit more of a stretch on the rear but still looks good just less tire get the 275 on the rear. but 255 toyos on the 9.5" wide rim look perfect.
u gotta keep in mind that some tire brands are wider then others. the t1r's are skinnier width wise then most other tires. and like the michelin ps2's being one of the widest. but were talkin by like 4 mm here. not to crazy

I had no idea that non staggered setup meant better, more neutral handling. if that's the case, is there any benefit to going 9.5 f and 10.5 rear other than looks?

I suppose there might be some setups with suspension power etc that might make a staggered setup appropriate.

as you can see answers are all over the place and one persons "acceptable" may be total trash to you.
i have 18x9.5 +20 all around. a tad aggressive in the front(+22 would be perfect), and a tad on the conservative side in the rear(+12 or 15 would be perfect). i run 255/40/18 falken rt615's(wide running tire) all around, and will switch to 265/35/18's when these are done.
