Hey Guys - I am going to soon replace my OEM tires and was wondering if any of you have any info and/or experience with the Pirelli P-Zero Rosso Direzionale? I know they put these tires on Boxsters as OEM. What's the scoop on this tire? I am also considering the Bridgestone S-03 Pole Positions and Toyo Proxes T1-S.

 

I had them on my Boxster S, they lasted 15k and are better than the RE040 in dry and wet and cold weather. But i havent tried any other tires so they might be some better ones

Anybody else have any input on these tires? Let me also pose another question... which tire do you feel is the best bang for the buck. Things to consider are performance (wet and dry), comfort/feel, road noise and tread life. Feel free to add to anything I left out... all comments are welcomed.

 

I have them. I was surprised how light they are. I'm very happy with them and would buy them again. Grip is good with them.

Hey Jose! Long time no see. I have put around 10K miles on my Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires now, running them thru this past DFW winter. They are just outstanding in wet NCT weather - you don't even know that it is raining because of how well these tires track in the wet. I really like them. Compared to the OEM RE040, the GS-D3 is quieter, has much more warning of impending breakaway at the limit, and is more forgiving at the limit on the track. They were (last fall) cheaper than the S03s or T1S, and having gotten 20K from my OEM tires, I expect (based on treadwear so far at 10K miles) to get around 30K with these Eagles -- treadwear being rated at 280-AA-A. If you are running stock rims though, I don't think they are available in the OEM sizes for the fronts.

What Clipper says about the Goodyear fronts is true. Anyone know if Goodyear will make the tire in the right size for front stock wheels?

 

I ran P-zero Neros on an M3 for a year before I sold the car. They were outstanding. Never drove in snow. I don't believe they were made for that. I can't compare to the new Goodyears because I have not owned them. The only complaint is price. The Rossos don't come close to the Neros. I wasn't aware that they came in the Z sizes.
