Default ANOTHER 'will they rub will they fit?" looking for guidance

I'm seeking guidance and advice from all resident wheel gurus because I don't want to buy tires/rims and then have to roll my fenders etc. unless I have no choice..... THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE!!!

I have searched the forum as well as the internet for advice, and I found rims that I like that I think will work on my Z, and I'm flex about the tires brand/size.....I prefer a sticky less expensive set, but I'm open to all suggestions.

Looking for tire Brand and Size suggestions as well regardless if these will rub/fit etc.......sticky rubber Summer tires....street use only....low miles annually.....Federals's??? etc. ????

I can get the same rim in 18's, but really prefer the look of the 19's

What will the ride be like on these as compared to the stock 18 rims/tires???

NICE to hear confirmation.......THANKS

Any suggestions on tires ????

What are some good sticky competition choices in this size range that are also good for road noise etc. for regular driving??

I'm not as concerned about price as much as I am about road noise during regular driving......Some noise is acceptable, but I don't want it to sound like my lifted truck going down the highway. LOL

Lexani, Uniroyal. Hancook, Accelera, BF Goodrich, Nitto, etc.

Michelin PSS or PS4S for summer, or do you need all seasons?

No I don't need all seasons.....I'm looking for Summer Nice Weather tires as the car will be driven seasonally and weather permitting.

I will probably only drive it about 3K a year so soft rubber tires that last about 25K miles will work fine because they will age themselves out if I don't wear them out.

Does anyone have any experiences with the Federal 595 RS-RR ??

I'm pricing out Michelins at about $1,500. and I have "heard" that the Federal RS-RR's are decent grippy tires that are about $1,000.

The rims are about a $1K and I was hoping to keep the tires to about the same.....????

Is it a do-able budget, or just get the Michelins???

I would never buy federal tires or any that's not Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental or other top tier brands. Never be cheap on tires or brakes, that's my moto. I hear the Continental extreme contact are close to the PS4S and usually come in a few hundred less

Can I go up from a 245/ 35 /19 to a 245/ 40/ 19 and from a 275/ 35/ 19 to a 275/ 40/ 19 without rub/scrub/ and or rolling fenders???

I think that I'm just increasing about an inch plus in height???

You might be able to clear those size tires but why would you want to? An inch in tire height is NOT insignificant.

I'm thinking the 35/19's might give a real harsh ride as compared to the stock 45/18's that I'm used to, and was thinking that maybe a 40 would be an option to put a lil more rubber between me and the road?????

The 35/19's definitely look right .....

It doesn't look bad below, and they claim it's a stock suspension, but it sure would suck to learn the hard way...LOL

Well, if its looks and comfort versus performance increase you're more concerned about, go with the Fitment Industries rec. But you know that sharp, fast steering response the Z has? Well, going with a taller tire will give you a plusher ride but will likely take away some of the tactile response. But suit yourself.

Personally, I run 245/35 and 275/35-19s; also have 255/285s on another set of wheels and I have no ride complaints; but then again, my car is used purely for mountain runs so not overly concerned with how smooth it rides.

if you have or plan on putting brembos at front. That offset might not work.

Yeah, My concern was the harsh ride emphasized by hitting pot holes and the over all lack of maintenance done to roads in general where I live and drive. I'm trying to avoid blow outs/bent rims/mis-alignments etc. while also trying to maintain some form of overall street performance as the car will not be tracked/competitively driven. The reality is that it's not the end of the world if I feel the road as it's the nature of owning/driving a sports car....

You definitely have a good point about what I would be giving up, and that's a lot to give up.

I bought the car because it's fun to drive, and to do things to it that decrease that is really counterproductive. As far as looks, I think it looks good wearing 35/19's so that's not a concern for me, and I know with 35's the fit will work well without question. They definitely look better than the 18's to me.

Is there any size combinations that are better then the 245/35 and 275/35-19s for road use that I may be overlooking, or am I just overthinking all of this? I'm good at overthinking.....

I like to have options, and was just kicking this one around.

Thanks for all the input from everyone!!!!

I just bought some Federal RSRR this year. I use them 95% on track only and the other 5% is just getting to and from the track. I got them because they were a dumb cheap 200TW tire. I wanted grip so i opted for these as my stepping stone into the 200tw tire world. I can say that they def have a lot more grip than my 340tw hankook ventus v12 tires for sure. If you don't like mud terrain noise then these might not be for you. I've put under 2000 miles on them so far and I like how they grip.
Here are other things I've noticed:
-cheap (under $550 shipped for 275/35/18s all corners)
-more grip than my hankook ventus v12s
-their sizes run wider than most other brands of the same size
-they are loud, yes the reviews are correct about the road noise, they do sound like there is a plane overhead at times depending on the pavement
-horrendous in the wet, i loose all confidence in these tires when it rains.

If you are planning to use for DD, I would say explore all other options before thinking of the federals, not that they aren't great, but because they will wear out quicker being a 200tw and you will be buying new tires (rears esp.) in a few years.

Kick it around all you want, that's what the forum is for.

OK, here it is... the 245/35-19 and 275/35-19 is the go-to alternative to 17 and 18 fitments. It is the closest +1 (19") application to OEM diameters. It is the easiest setup to work with and fit. It is also the most practical set up in terms of actual performance on the street and hills/valleys because they are not so oversized that they don't warm up properly. You need heat in any tire for it to effectively do its job. Running anything over these sizes on the street leads to diminishing returns. Even my 255/285 setups are not really worthwhile but for that nice plump look.

But, doesn't mean there aren't alternatives from 255/285 to 275/35-square to 275/30 & 305/30 and everything in between, or above and below applications like 225s on 10.5 wheels (for the camber/stretchy people) and 325s+ for the bloater/widebody folks. If you're cruising, mountain driving, again, going any of these other routes is counterproductive in terms of actual performance gain.
