New Wheels & Tires
Hi everyone I am ready to put some new shoes on my 03 touring 6spd. I got the car earlier this year and its my first sports car. I been riding sports bikes for 6 years and have no idea about car wheels and tires. From my research I decided to put on 18" gramlights 57cr. I also came up with the sizes 18x10.5 +22 for the rear and 18x9.5 +22 for the fronts . The problem is i have no idea what tire size and what tire to get. It is my daily car but my job is only couple miles away from my house. I do a lot of back road and mountain driving, spirited but nothing too fast still trying to learn how to drive a rear wheel drive manual car. I live in Northern VA so we do get cold weather and rain but not alot of snow. I do have other ways of transportation during snow. So what tires do you guys recommend for me and sizes I really do not have any idea what width to go I seen everyone run so many different sizes. Car is completely stock other than a jwt pop charger. Please let me know what you all recommend for tire size and choice. If you have any reviews on my wheel choice I would love to know that as well. Thank you in advance and apologies for any grammatical mistakes English is my second language.
Great wheel choice, I would stick to the standard 245 or 255/40-18 fronts and 275/40-18 rears. As far as brands, it’s always fun figuring out the balance between grip and tread life for your needs
I run that same combo except 285/35. The selection/price was better as well.
***Disregard anything. I looked a lot deeper into it.
Terras is 100% spot on for tires, if you want a near zero speedo difference, I'd do the 255/40's up front to match the factory rolling diameter rather 245s.

Here are my suggestions based on your locality - - and you WILL give up ultimate grip for All Season capability.
Pilot Sport A/S 3
Continental Extreme Contact DWS
Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+
BFG G-Force Comp 2 A/S
The problem with TRUE performance tires is that they lose some of the grip in cold weather. Some become downright A$$ PUCKERING as they are Max Performance Summer tires, anything less than 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and it can scare the crap out of you
