Default Spacer question...HELP please

I just ordered these H&R spacers in the 5mm format to push my +40 rear rims out to a +35. I know it says "hub centric" but are these wheel centric too? Will I have any issues installing these, like vibration or the stock bolts not gonna be long enough? Anyone know PLEASE help me out.

Thanks,
John

I installed the same spacers on my fronts. They are hubcentric, in that they fit snugly around the hub center. The hubs are raised about 10mm from the face of the rotor-to-wheel interface, so when you use these spacers, the remaining hub material will locate the wheel properly = wheel centering and no vibration issues. i(I don't think 10mm spacers will provide that security.)

You will have to replace the OEM studs with the longer ones that come in the spacer kit, as the OEM ones are have very little 'extra' length.

ok so here are my wheel specs 18x8 +32 (front) and 18x9 +40 (rear). I went ahead and ordered the 5mm spacers for the front and the 15mm spacers for my rears. This would now make my offset +27 front and +25 rear correct???

This might help. I added H&R 25mm spacers to the rear last night. It was indeed hub centric. In fact it was quite tight, requiring the bolts to pull the spacer down.

Here's an inside shot to show just how snug it was. The spacer also felt to be wheel centric, although not quite as snug.

Here's a comparo. On the left is the spacer, on the right is OEM. IMO, 25mm is the max one would want with stock setup. It doesn't overwhelm the stock front in appearance, but I do think mounting 245s up front would help. One thing I can say is that with such a wide track, 245s see quite small back there. Also, you'll nice it creates the illusion that the wheel gap is quite a bit smaller with the spacer. This is very noticable in the flesh and makes the front look somewhat "lifted" now.

In the long run, I'd probably shave 5mm off the rear (to where the OEM studs are flush with the outside edge of the spacer) to create a little more balance.

FYI, the spacers weighted 2.5lbs each with bolts.

Thats a great comparison photo! I've been thinking about them for a long time now - currently everywhere I look there out of stock though.

PS - I think its bath time for you Z
