This sucks but I feel your pain. The day after I bought my car a truck kicked up a big rock and scratched and dented my hood plus cracked my windsheild. I was F@#$ing pissed, I wanted to kill that guy.

You are not alone man. My wife hit my car quite close to the way you described. Car was one month old...

I was pissed off, but I can't be mad long and my wife knew it. She was quite suprised though that I didn't immediatelly killed her But if I had my mother in law suggesting me pop the mirror back... odl woman would have to go... So now she always use this argument to proov her friends how lucky she is and how I love her.

Insurance payed everything ($2100) and I got rid of that ugly fron badge in the process! Know I never left my car on a driveway where wife can back into it.

P.S. friend of mine had his previous car hit twice(!) by his wife.

Regarding the OEM wheels, they're $800 a pop each. I know all too well I just bent my second one! I don't even remember hitting a pothole let alone a curb to dent this one. Expensive. I'm hunting for a used one this time on sites like this.

My wife backed into my truck while driving (our) Z two days ago ... $1,000 damage to the back corner ... Maybe the car is so low people can't see it in the rear view mirror ??? There should be a warning label saying "DO NOT PARK IN DRIVEWAY" Oh well, life goes on ....

This is the best thread!! Few months ago, I pulled way up to the garage to unload the groceries, while I was inside, pops closed the garage door right on top of my front bumper. Scratched the emblem and bumper. He looked like he had seen a ghost when it came to telling me. I just thought in my head "GREAT!" (sarcasticly of course). I went outside checked the damage and thought to my self, "well, it is just a car". I had to repeat that a few hundred times to start believing that it is just a car. Otherwise, I would have lost it. I decided to just leave it and not do anything about it, because the day I fix it, some other incident will happen.

my sister opened up her door and dinged up my door. it also left some of her paint on my door. i couldn't believe it because she parks in the 1-car garage and i park in the 2-car garage and there's like 4-5 feet of space in between the garages. she just happen to swing her door wide open......i was sooooo pissed!!!

On a similar note...

I had just gotten my car and babied it like no tomorrow. I put 10 coats of zaino on that thing in one week. I would always tell my friends/coworkers to run their finger tips across my paint to feel how smooth my paint was. I parked it a mile away at the mall to make sure no one got near it. This was during the winter. It had snowed one night and in the morning when I woke up I saw my dad standing in the doorway with a floor broom in his hand. He always uses a broom to clean off the snow on his car.

"I cleaned some of the snow off your car."

I freaked out and quickly ran to take a look. He told me he just used his gloves to clean the windows so snow wouldn't get in the car when I opened the doors. I told him "don't ever touch my car. I don't care if its coverd in snow. Just leave it. I'll kill you if you ever touch my car."

I felt like $hit the moment I realized what I had just said.

EDIT: BTW, why is this in the wheel forum?

Damn, that sucks and I couldn't imagine telling my dad that. Me and my dad love cars and used to compare them and compete against each other all the time. I wanted to buy him a 996 911 Turbo for his birthday in a few years but he died of cancer so I can't do it now

That's nothing, the day I went to pick up my Z from the dealer it was wrecked.

I drove it all the way to within 15 mins form my house, but my friend wanted to see it and of course he wanted to try her out, bad idea now that I think about it. Wet roads, RWD, and him never driving anything more than a Civic. But we have been friends since HS so I gave him the keys and we went for a ride, he lost it on a corner and it jumped a curbed tore up the suspension, and wheels.

So 2 hours out of the dealership and my Z was on a Tow truck with 4K in damage. It took every single piece of my will not to kill him right on the spot

Same thing happened to me here The wife was getting something out of the passengers side of her car in the garange and her coat got caught on the door swinging it into the Z She was bawling when she came in the house, and it hadn't even done anything serious to the car,

One afternoon when I was feeling particularly nice, I told my wife she could us my SLK when she went out to meet friends for lunch. The SLK and Z sit next to each other in the garage. As I was telling her goodbye and she opened the door of the SLK (Bang!), yea, right into the door panel of the Z.

Of course, I ran over to see what happened, but amazingly, there was no damage. While she was out, she called 3 times to say how sorry she was. I told her not to worry about it.

After she got home, I was out in the garage, and guess what. Now there WAS a ding in the Z door panel, and it matched up perfectly with the SLK door edge. Crap, she hit it AGAIN when she came back and this time she DID dent the door!!!!! I was so furious, I couldn't speak. I walked back into the house, and proceded to throw a set of keys through the family room window. What was I thinking!?!?

Well, the dent rubbed out (Dent Doctor, $99) and I replaced the window ($200) and while I let my wife drive my cars occasionally, she won't even attempt to get them in/out of the garage.
