Unhappy Z wife hits my Z

I must speak on this for I have not said a word since last night at 11:30pm. My LS touring has the clifford alarm system and is always on if i'm not in the car.
Now My wife currently decided she was going out with some friends last night wanted to use my 97 expedition so she could pick up the girls, ok no problem. I have always parked the Z on the other side of the driveway away fromthe suv. I'm laying back in the bedroom watching sportscenter. THEN all of a sudden I hear my car calling me about a break in the hand held clifford control confirms the break in, I jump from the bed grab the 40 cal and head for the door. I ****** open the back door like swat and there stands my wife with tears streaming down her face as she utters those words, I HIT YOUR CAR. I said what and the only words that came out of my mouth was SH*T and i think i said it about 7 or 8 times. It looks like she was backing out dogding the bushes and scraped the drivers side of the Z. Her mother who there at the time handed me my drivers side mirror and said maybe someone can pop this back on. My wife was trying to say something but honestly i couldn't hear a word she was saying all sounded like charlie brown garble. I went back in the bedroom and haven't spoken to anyone since, she just kept saying i hit your babe and i'm sorry. I haven't lock the keys in the car but this is a first for me. Oh well i feel somewhat better

awhhh ****!!!! your own companion Bashed your car...
that's just a major draw of bad luck.

i thought your grandma's hilarous. "you can pop this back in!!!" hahah..that's cute

but man...i mean what can you do---it's your wife, you can't stay mad at her forever! ! ! but still--what a let down....

seeing how your wife was crying---- i bet she understood that you care greatly for your car and felt completely sorry for her actions....

z350doggit I relly feel for you my man. I just put a little rub mark on the driver door swing open the door to my jeep grand too quicly. Two slight marks that I can feel and see evrytime I llok at my car. Can't even begin to imagine what you're dealing with. I can say that it sounds like you've gat a pretty good wife, she was, or at least it sounds like she was truly sorry for what she did, and not dismissive some some of these god awful uptight CT beyatch's that I seem to keep finding here. She knew not tom probably say anything, rather than those that would find a way to lay the blame on you like "you should've never parked it there" or something like that. Good luck with the repair. I didn't actually see where you're located but if you are in the NY/CT area I do know very good and very fair autobody guys.

You need to tell your wife that everything is ok. It's a nice car, but it's still a car. Your wife's feelings are much more important than any damage you can get on a car. She's probably very unhappy with herself right now.

That being said - this sucks. I'm sorry about your misfortune and hope you can get your car back into fine shape ASAP.

I agree with Jason. It's just a car, and you'll own many more nice one's in the future.

I dropped my motorcycle on my car and scratched up the rear bumper while bending my motorcycle's shifter back. I was upset, but it all went away quite quickly, expecially when I discovered that my home's drains were all clogged up, and the heavy rains were flooding my backyard. I had about a foot of water, and it encroached upon my foundation. All these problems become kind of relative.

But, back to the subject, you should certainly forgive her, and tell her everything is OK. Then, tell her that you'd be so much more forgiving if she washed and waxed the car every month for a year, and replace the oil and filter every 6 months. That should be adequate.

You are a lucky man.... She feels your pain

I told my wife the other day, that some A hole stole my z emblem and dented my hatch, she said "Oh, you worry about that car so much"

Chill out man, its just a car. i understand that you would be upset, thats a given but its not like your wife did it on purpose, besides, this is one of the many reasons why we pay for high priced insurance. Claim it as a hit and run, find a good body shop, get it repaired. Wait a month and then claim your other vehicle as a hit and run. Depending on who your insurance carrier is, you can have up to 2 hit and runs or vandalism claims without your premium going up. Good luck.

I am sorry about the car but your wife didnt do it on purpose. She is obviously very sorry and probably feels 100 times worse than you do. A car can always be fixed or replaced.

UPDATE: I told wife no problem i loved her more(yeh right) and that I would bring the Z back to it's original form ASAP. Now Ins is covering both the Z and SUV, 500 dec., damage on Z est 1625.00, should be back on road tuesday. Intersting note the manager of the body shop told me that he had another Z in that had hit a curb and damage the stock wheels and to replace it from the factory was $1500.00 per wheels.

Sounds like you got a good one there. She was sincerely sad about what happened and she knows you are too. Just give her a hug, say its ok, and whisper in her ear that the next mod you do...she cant say a peep about!
