Default Trading in stock tires for Toyos (some questions)

Hi,

My stock tires have 2500 KM on them. The Toyo dealer will credit their "value" for new Toyos.

Qs:

1. How much would a fair price be for my four almost new stock tires?

2. After major research, I came up with my conclusions on tire size viz a viz what I want:

Toyo Proxes T1-S Front 245/40/18 Back 245/45/18

I hate understeer. My 993 had that edge over the Z. To my understanding having four same width on all corners will minimize understeer as much as possible form a tires perspective.

The difference between the 40/45 is there to insure that VDC, ABS work properly if activated.

Your comments ?

3. How much power difference should I feel because of less tire weight in general?

Thank you for your feedback guys,

MoZi

Thanks lou for the feedback.

Just came back from the shop, I will pay a net of $ 700 to have the new tires. I have to pay for installment at another place though coz they are the only ones with "no touch" machines.

2 questions:

1. What do I need to do after installment. Alignment and there is something they do here which is put piecs of lead or something (maybe balancing)?

2. I have an early 2004 model, produced en July 2003. Only 3000 KM so far. Should I wait to see if the tires feather at some point prior to installemt? The shop for the Toyos will give me a one year warranty (unlimited mileage)... what do u think?
