Default 245 or 255

Hi guys

I'm getting myself some nice 8.5+9.5 x 19" Rims, similar to the ADR M-Sport in the US. What tire size is the best for the front, 245/35 or 255/35?
I know the diam. maths, but right now I'm talking about handling and performance!

See the post above on using 265 tires. Go with 255.

I had 245's on my 8.5 inch wide 19 inch TE37's. On the next set of wheels I am going with a 255.

i currently have 245s, but have a pair of 255s sitting in the garage. might put the 255s on sometime in the near future.
so i suggest going with 255s.

For a 9.5 you definatly want to go with 255. Otherwise curbs will be your worse enemy.

03ZUC. he's talking about the front 8.5" wheel/tire combo.

IMO, stay with the 245/35s. That is the recommended size, and handles very well. You'll have no issues with slip and VDC. 255s will probably be OK, but honestly, I see no advantage to them.

Go with the 255, i currently have 245 on the front they look nice ,but i would have liked to put 255 so it would protect my front rims a little bit from sidewalk scrapes

According to this month's issue in Sports Compact where handling/suspension upgrades are discussed for the 350Z. They went with 275 at all four corners for improved handling-the advantage. However, they don't have VDC. But with a 255 up front and a 275 in the back, that still provides about ~0.7" stagger which would not affect the VDC. When I first got my car and didn't know better, I got 235 fronts and 245 rears with my aftermarket rims, I never had problems with my VDC/slip light coming on. I ordered 255/35 and 275/35 for my soon to come set of Axis Milanos.

I forgot to mention that a 255/35 is 0.2% off the stock 225/45 size while a 245/35 is 0.8% difference.

So according to what everyone is saying, a 255 up front IS better then the all popular 245. So I guess it seems pretty safe or better.

But yeah, the 245 on my old te37's just didnt seem to offer ANY side wall protection at all.
