Actually, do you guys know, that we have 1.5 lbs ballast attached to the hutch? under plastic cover, in the middle, near wiper mechanism? I finally took it off, so it's 38.5 lbs lighter in one day.

I just sent my 17" RP-F1's out to get powdercoated. Semi-gloss black baby! Should be good for at least 10hp.

Technically, if you went to 8 inch widths, you aren't in BS anymore since stock 17s are 7.5 inches wide (correct me if I'm wrong on the stock width)

Nobody will probably call you on it, though. That really will only get called at nationals. I might to 17x8s, though. I'd already technically be illegal for BS since mine has stock 18s.

I have stock 8" rear and 7.5 front. So yeah, 8 all around isn't totally legal for BS, but it's close enough for me, so I know I don't cheat too much. And when I'll have to warry about Nationals, I'll gladly adjust either class or wheels. Not sure if it's going to be soon though...

Hey Vlad,
I have the 18x8.5 with 245/40 Falken Beta on the front and 18x9.5 with 275/40 on the back--'03 Touring. I noticed you don't have center caps. You can order them from Discount Tire Direct. Part number A379-0000SP. Not sure of the cost (caps were included with my wheels) If you're interested call Adam @ DTD 1-800-707-8473 x425.

As for advantages... Hmmm, I see none. So what the point? I never understood why people put 19s on their sprot cars? I don't take my car to stupid car shows. I can't see my wheels when driving. Not that I find big wheels pretty.

Hmm. about as much tact, understanding and class as ever.

Thanks for not dissapointing me Vlad!

19's heavier? Bend easy?

Well, my 19's are about 6 pounds lighter per wheel then the stock 17's. I am sure my tires are heavier then stock, but even so, I think that the total outcome is STILL a lighter wheel. It is ovious just by lifting them one after the other. Grip b4 and after was a night and day difference. ( Car did NOT get slower in any way )

Bending? Hell no, my wheels wont bend unless you hit a giant a$$ rock, or pothole, in which case your would probably bend too...

More expensive? Yeah, oh well..

If I were going to the track or autoX, I'd by some 18 inch te37's ( ce28's are lighter but imo look odd in 18's ) I think, very light, still can have a wide rubber choice.

If your wheels are 6 pounds lighter that means still about 3 pounds heavier than mine (15.8 rim weight).

If you didn't bend you wheels - good for you. I didn't say everybody does. but if you have 2" bigger rims that means you rim is 1" closer to an asfalt. That's a fact.

I like TE37s, but being F1 McLaren fan, I'd pick RPF1 even for the same price. But being 2 times more expensive... TE37 was out of question.

Not at all. Manual mode helps a lot. 99% of every course usually in optimal revs of 2nd gear. So I just start in 1st, upshift to 2nd and stay there. Add to that gas+ brake lanch and breaking under gas on course sometimes and you are almoust there. The thing is I got into autox after I got the car so gotta live with it. Next one will be manual though. Hope they'll have TT by 2006.
