Question Opinions of Falkin tires

I am thinking of getting wheels and tires for my Z and to make it work in my budget, I am thinking of getting the Falkin GR Beta FK-451 tires. Anyone running these? Any opinions would be appreciated.

I got these for my Falken wheels. They're coming in this week. I'll let you know how the tires are.

Ive been running them for a few months with no problems. The grip seems to be pretty good. No signs of tire feathering so far (I have modified my suspension though). Im running 245/35/19 front and 285/35/19 rear. Great tires for the money.

i've had the 451s for a while now... no problems whatsoever. good grip and a very nice price. my only complaint would be a little more road noise then i would like. i am running the same sizes as djk, 245 and 285. i've had the 245s for a little over 6 months and the 285s for approx.3 months.

all my comments are the same as above. great tire for the price, great dry grip, could be a little better in the wet and there is a little too much road noise when they begin to wear. my falken 451's have lasted longer than any other tire i've had on this car. i will be picking up another set of these very soon.

overall a great tire.

I just bought the 451's yesterday. On stock rims 245/40/18 ft & 255/45/18 rr. As soon as i pulled out after the mounting i noticed an emmediate change. I gotta tell you i did not like the new feel. It felt very spongi in turns and like the side walls were "rolling". The steering felt like a truck comparatively. I remember someone telling me (mgl or DJK) that I would have to inflate them to 45 or 50 PSI to correct this. The tire store inflated them to 35 PSI. When i got home with them the first thing I did was inflate them to 40 PSI. I drove it a good while after that
and there was an all around improvement. Today I will inflate to 45 and see what happens. The max tire pressure for these tires is 51 PSI cold.

i have a 245/40f and 245/45r setup. very nice and much much more grip than original. as some other posters said, there is a bit of tire noise, but it isnt too bad.

humm, all i notice was the steering was a bit heavier, due to the 225 -> a 245 front tire. maybe it is the 255/45 rear that has a bigger sidwall that is causing the "rolling"??

Are you sure the side-wall flex isn't caused by the fact that you've got a tire in the rear that's too big for the rim? AFAIK minimum recommended rim width for a 275 is 9 inches according to Falken.

I had the same tires and it did the same..these tires like to be ran at 45-50 PSI. Hands down these have been my fave tires, when its time for new tires unless i get a deal on another brand I will be getting these again.

I inflated them up another 5 PSI yesterday but did not drive it until work this morning. When the tires warmed up my pressure monitor read 46/47 for all tires. Everything improved again but I will have to wait and see with a little more spirited driving. Looks like I still have plenty of room for more pressure from cold.

The rear is a 255/45/18, not 275, on the stock 18" X 8" rim. It is very noticably taller than the 245/40 and that could very well be my problem with flex. But the 255/45's fit well on the 8"rim.

Thank you everyone for you replies. I ordered my wheels and tires and the rear Falkins were out of stock with a 6 week wait, so I ended up getting Nitto NT555s.

What size Nittos did you order? Please give an update on how the tires perform once you get them. Thanks!
