Default Anyone have OZ's

Does anyone have any OZ wheels on their Z? I was just at a local speed / performance shop looking for QUALITY as well as LIGHT WEIGHT Rims for the Z. I inquired about Volks and still may wind up getting a set, but the sales guy also pointed me to OZ wheels. They have a few sets which will fit the Z and are REALLY light weight. I was sondering if anyone had any personal experiences with them. They seem to be quite expensive, but if the quality and workmanship are all top quality, I'd be interested.

Would Italian wheels work well on a Japenese car?

I have a set of 18X9 OZ Superleggera in Race Silver. They were used less than 100 miles. My brother decided to go with a staggered setup of 5Zigen F1Noir. I'll have to double check the offset, but I believe they are 35 or 38mm. I was originally going to use them on my Maxima, but my SSR Integrals cleared the Brembo Gran Turismo kit just fine. I'm not sure what's fair to ask, so I'll ask my bro how much he paid, and how much he wants for them. BTW, these are extremely light ~less than 19lbs. If anyone is interested and is in SoCal, let me know. I realize that I'm a newbie here and I think meeting up would feel the most secure for the buyer.

I had the superleggeras on my last car. They were my track rims. I was very happy with them. Strong, lightweight, good fit and finish...

If you get 19's x 11's they will be heavier than the Rays.

OZ is top wheel manufacture from Europe, like BBS. So you don't have to worry about their qualities and performance. It's up there with SSR, VOLKS, WORKS....etc.

I'm sorry, but I have to say that OZ is a step above any of the Japanese manufacturers - you're right, they are right up there with BBS, with HRE one step above them - they are quite expensive ($3500 wheels alone in 19") but worth every penny...

The superlegga III is a timeless design that looks great on any vehicle and is definitely one of my top 2/3 wheels all time...

HRE is not that good, they are just expensive. Kinda like Brabus, AMG, Bryton, and Hammen rims. OZ is actually better than HRE, if you going to bring your car to track.

OZ is above some of Japanese wheels (like 5 zigen, or Kosei) but NOT any Japanese wheel manufactures. Take Enkei for example, it's the official wheel supplier for Mclaren Mercedes F1 racing team, just like OZ were suppliers for other F1 racing team. Volks racing wheel were most widely used in JGTC racing and other Japanese professional racing. ADVAN racing, SSR, WORKS, were all used in serious competition just like OZ does.

It's not the price to determined it's up there. It's the quality and performance. And oftenly European wheels are over priced, and their quality didn't matched the price, just like their cars. for example Audi TT, Porche Boxter....etc.

Anyway, back to the topic. OZ is really good. you should get it.

I guess I don't need to post pics anymore, that might as well be my car.
If anyone wants a set mine will be for sale next week. I'll cut you a good deal, 3k with falkens on that have at least half their life left if I have to ship them to you, 2500 if you come pick em up at my place. I paid 758 a peice for the fronts and 800 something for the rears. Tirerack lists them at around 900 a peice. Overall the setup cost me over 4 G's about a year ago. I think this is a good deal.
The rears are perfect as is one of the fronts, the other front has a fairly ugly scratch on the edge of the lip. This happened just this week and I'm kicking my self since I have to sell em. Doh...! The scratch can probably be buffed out with some very serious elbow grease and the right technique (I wouldnt try it personnaly) or a machine shop can easily rifinish it for you.
oh yeah, they are 19X8.5 front and 19X9.5 rear and the tires are 245/285. Fit is perfect, OZ made these for my car.
Any takers, PM me.

OZ is a great wheel company.

The Superleggera III is a bling bling wheel (and it looks quite nice) but is not a serious performance wheel. The SL III is not that lightwieght despite its forged desing.

Go with the one piece Superleggera if you want real performance.

It's one of the lightest 3 peice wheels you're gonna find though. I do agree that if you want a real performance wheel you should go one peice.

I don't know about lightest, however I am sure they are among the strongest. Not only that but I have seen these in person and they look sooooo good.
The fasteners add a high tech race look to the whole car. I passed these wheels by after checking out the look on tirerack (interactive wheel system) I had to see them in person to realise how good they look.
If I could sell my TE37s quickly enough I would so buy these wheels.

$2500 is a great deal, especially with tires. You should be rid of them quickly Clermont. If not call me and I'll sell mine to get yours!

Cool, I'll keep you in mind if it takes time. They are comming off my car this week-end. I'll let you know.

Regarding the weight, They are a Titanuim/alluminium alloy and as far as I know they are the lightest deep dish rim out there. Of course, one peice is much lighter.
