as long as you keep the outer diameter the same it shouldnt matter. im considering going to a 275/35/19 rear and keeping a 245/40/18 in front. there are alot of cars that do this. lets see a few pics of Z's with different sizes front/rear. i know there are a few on here!

Will it affect handling at all? I'm thinking , it would look unbalanced. The front wheel has more rubber than the rear, unless you put bigger tire on the rear wheel but the stagger will be off. hmm

no the front would not be bigger!! i dont know what he was talking about by keeping the same diameter? but i am talking about keeping the same staggered setup just with a 19 and 20 rather than 2 19's. Clear now? anyone know....

I understand about keeping the same diameter of the wheel. I'm talking about when you go 19's, there's less sidewall height of the rubber. You will be using 35 series instead of 40. Looking at the two together, the 19's will have less rubber than the 18's, thus creating an unbalanced look.

Z8M

The sidewall height of a 245/40/18 tire is exactly the same as a 275/35/19. Remember the aspect ratio is a value that compares the side wall height to the tires section width. .40X245=98mm, .35X275=96.25mm. For all practical purposes, the same. Having 18s or 19s on both ends will give you a higher sidewall in back. .40X275=110mm. This unequal sidewall height is not a problem for me, however.

Take a look at a C5 vette (17s in front and 18s in Back). The C6 has 18s in front and 19s in back. This is not uncommon.

why is everyone debating the specifics of possibility??? maybe i should have asked for pros and cons from eperienced users, because it is obviously possible other wise i wouldnt be considering it!

no need to get so upset!? the first 3 words in your first post were "is it possable" so it wasnt too obvious! evryone has given you pretty good answeres i think. to answer your question....
is it possible to run 19's in the front and 20's in the rear?
yes! BUT, you have to make up the difference in rim size by stagering your side wall size. that way you keep the same outer diameter front and rear. (think of it like a line that goes around the outside of your tires. no matter what size rims are in the tires, the outside line MUST stay the same!)
pros: it looks hot!!
cons: tires for the rear will be more $$$
a$$ end will seem bumpier!
i hope this helps! if not try to p/m the guy from disscount tires, he migh have a better way of explaining it. ps. were only trying to help!

Experienced Users? Give me a break. Of course it's possible, or you wouldn't have asked the question.

My recommendation. 20s are too big for the "Z". IMO, 19s are the largest size anyone should consider. Again, IMO, I run 18 Nismos front and rear, and am quite happy with the look and handling of the car. A big improvement over the stock 18s. If you want the "look", run 18s in front and 19s in back. 245/40/18 and 275/35/19. But, since you allready run 19s front and back, leave it alone!

My .02 - Take it or leave it, but don't ***** about it.

Lou
