tire pressure sensors are HOW MUCH!!!???
Man,
Just got off the phone with the local dealer. Price for the tire pressure sensors: $495 CDN each. So, basically 2 grand for the car.
Any cheaper alternatives out there? I just bought a new set of SSR rims with Dunlop tires, and I want to run the stock rims with my Pirelli Snowsports as winter wheels. I'd have to have to run one set of wheels without sensors.
I know TCS and VDC are more important in winter - but I don't want stupid warning lights in my face all the time.

I did not transfer my sensors from my stock wheels to my new wheels when I swapped them out back in December. I have never had any kind of flashing light or audible warning sound. The only thing you get is a light that comes up on the dash after about 40 minutes of driving. It doesnt blink but just sits there static.
Hope this helps, no need to waste hundreds of dollars getting something you dont need.

I left my sesnors on my stock wheels when I switched to my GT-7s. The low pressure light has come on twice in 5 months and it only stayed on for a few minutes. Don't worry about trying to transfer the sensors to your new wheels--just remember to check the tire pressure the old fashioned way.

TPS is also important if you're running expensive tires... a leak in a low profile tire may not be detected until it's too late (i.e. your tread has torn)
the price of one saved tire is worth it for you to buy a set from someone selling on this forum
