I too have spent many hours debating what I really wanted.
I finally decided that I would not sacrifice ride quality for looks.
I just ordered a set of 18" Volk GT-U's, 9"f & 10"r...for my G Coupe.

I think I've made my case
Hey Veilside!

I know this thread was months ago but my order for 18's is taking way too long and was informed the 19's are in stock ready to ship in a week....soooooo.....I'm appreciating the nice pics you sent me and am wondering what widths and offset you went with? Car looks "KILLER"! I'm even thinking about the Veilside setup for my Z Roadster(maybe without the rear spoiler though, kinda looks funny on a convertible). Thanks for your reply!

Cheers,

Mike

Default Just took both out for a spin

I'm doing some wheel hunting myself. One of my buddies has a Z as well, he just dropped some 19" TE37s on with the recommended 245/275 stagger (Don't ask me why but the fool went and bought RE040s again!!!). Neither he nor I are fans of the ride..it is definitely more jarring over bumps. The other changes we noticed: more grip (duh), and a hint of tram-tracking up front. Visually the lip on his TEs is pretty big so the wheels don't actually look that big. I would advise people going w/big lips to get the 19s if they can handle the ride. If you don't need a lip (for example if you go nismo) 18s look great.

Mike,

Wheel / Tire Specs are as follows:

Front Wheels/Tires - Racing Hart C4 9.0J x 19" Alloy Wheels (+26mm offset) with 245/35 R19 93Y Toyo Proxes T1S

Rear Wheels/Tires - Racing Hart C4 10.5J x 19" Alloy Wheels (+22mm offset) with 275/35 R19 96Y Toyo Proxes T1S

FYI - I'm looking at swapping out the VeilSide V1 UnderWings & have some Nismo Sideskirts on order at present - the V1's look fantastic, but I'm just picking up too much stonechip damage on the leading edges... once the new Skirts turn up I'll get them wrapped in Paint Protection Film
