Am The Only One Who Gets Shocked...
Damnit! I swear.... Uhhh, I take that back.
But when I wear certain types of shoes (typically a nice leather upper with a thick rubber sole, including tennis shoes) I get the SHIZ SHOCKED out of me!
Consequently, I end up having to hit the tops of my door with a closed fist (obviously no that hard) when I get out to close the door, as oppossed to touching it with my finger tips which is pretty damn painful. It never happens with regular tennis shoes (nylon upper w/ rubber soles) or ALL leather shoes & soles.
Now I remember this being an issue sometimes in my previous cars (Lexus and Cobra) but they both had "Serious aftermarket sound systems" which I thought was the reason.
Also, I have Weather Tech 'rubber floor mats' (which are a MUST).
Anyone else going thru this......

I get zapped pretty good, but only when it is cold. I do have quite the stereo system, so that may be the cause...
I normally just lean over and touch the girl riding with me after stopping the car, that way I zap her instead.

I forget what shoes I was wearing the other day, one of my older sneakers..I think Skechers. Anyway I got the shock treatment but good and I noticed the hair on my right arm was being very attracted to the console.
acctualy it has to do with what you wear and nothing to do with stereo. If you wear polyester or someting with wool in it, it will polarize you. And since the entire body of a car is like - pole. Watch out....
I've never been shocked in the Z, but always in my friends' cars that have cloth seats, too. I think I still have my left foot barely touching the clutch pedal when I reach for the handle (if that does anything).

Take your key and touch it to the door frame as you exit and you wont get the "shock", you just discharge without even noticing. I have to do that with my old car. Seems to work good, now it is habit and I don't get shocked. Make sure you are only touching the plastic part of the key though.

Hmmmmm? Great advice! Now if only I can remember...
More seriously discharge the electricity before touching your gas tank. That small zap and the vapors has caused a lot of deaths and serious injuries throughout the country.
