Default ssr competitions

No more lurking... (but I won`t get into that ``does a plenum really add power`` debate

I`m looking to buy some SSR competitions for my 350z (perf). I like the specs and reviews of the wheel, but I`m not sure about the fit. These rims would be coming from a private party:

18x81/2, 18x91/2. Supposedly a 42 mm offset. Hmm... My questions:

1. Does that offset sound good? The fronts especially...? I don`t need (aesthetically) the outside wheel edge flush with the body work, but it should be close - as close as the stock wheels are, or more out towards the fender.

2. Does anyone have these wheels? I looked on the net and found 18x8, 18x81/2 and 18x9, but no 91/2s....hmmm. Comments?

3. What sounds like a good price for a nearly new set?

Thanks!

with that offset on the not-very-wide wheels, the new wheels will be about the same as your OEM wheels, with regard to how they fit within the wheelwell....

check out www.tirerack.com they sell the SSR Comp-H... it's the one you need for the 350Z

The SSR Comp is a very light wheel and works great on lightweight cars, say under 3100 pounds. When you use the Comp on a heavier car, above 3100 lbs, you may end up bending them. So, SSR makes the Comp-H. The "H" means 'hybrid'. SSR overlaps the rim halves by a few inches to provide more stiffness in the wheel. It adds a few ounces, but does wonders for durability.

Tirerack has the 18x10.5 with +43 for the rear ($535 each) and 18x9 with +31 for the front ($509 each). Rears weight about 19.5 lbs and front about 19 lbs.

Hope that helps.

I got the Comp H from Tirerack (thanks Luke) in 17x8.5 and 17x9.5, cause I wanted to maintain stock diameter and the better R compound selection in 17 inch fitment. They're awesome looking, light, but expensive. I used stock offsets for the 17" fitted Enthusiast.
