Default saw a z with wheel spacer in rear(touring)..safe?

i was at the grocery store here in sarasota florida & saw a DB with the 18" aftermarket wheels. never heard of the wheels or have i ever seen these wheels but sat very flush with the fenders front/rear. somthing looked odd so i went for a closer look. i noticed he had the same size tires front/rear & the tires looked the same fitment-wise on the wheels. so i knew he had the same wheel sizes front/rear. when i looked even closer to the rear wheels i could obviously see there were those cheap 1/4" mabey 3/16" spacers between the rotors & wheels.......i waited for about 20 mins to see if the owner would come out but noone came so i went on with my grocery shopping......is this safe? wouldnt it cause less threads for the lug to grab? proper offsets would seem better/safer but mabey its not as bad as i would have thought........opinions on this please, has anyone else done this? i just found it disturbing for some reason, like cheating for the right look, lol..........

How could you determine that his spacers were "cheap"?

to answer both your questions, the spacers didnt sit evenly around the wheel mounting point. more heavy on one side than the other, plus it had a uneven surface with slight slag pieces left on the edges. both of these things told me the spacers were the cheap autoparts store $5 cheapos. im not out to talk crap about evey z i see with things i dont agree with, i just get surprised that some people go & spend $30k + for a nice sports car & put cheap peices on that may be dangerous to themselves or others or thier $30k+ car......who knows, mabey it just me!

so they do make hubcetric small(thin) spacers that are safe? ive seen the hubcentric adaptors but not spacers.....i feel like telling this guy if they do, lol!
