Default **TIRE GURUS** help me choose a tire

For my GF's car. She needs new tires for her C230K. These are the choices I found that would fit her car (225/45/17) and affordable. Performance isn't that much of an issue, i just want to know what brand tire would be good for day-to-day driving, safe, and reliable.

They are the 104"s. Handle well in dry and wet. No road noise. Havent had them on long enough though for the mileage test.

For the sumo and kumho wet traction sucked and they definately didnt last long. Thats another thing to consider. What speed rating did they come with originally? Probably z rated. Most places will only go down one speed rating if at all.

Ive had the p7000ss, S03, Continental contisportcontact, falken 451's and 502's, hankook 104's.

For the money nothing beats the falkens, i havent had the hankooks long enough to really see how they are. S03's i like but they cost a bit more.

Didnt like the contisportcontacts. The p7000 are horrible.

GF had the sumitomos on her car and it got really really loud once it started to wear.

Ran the ECSTA Supra 712s on my Acura years ago.

NICE tire!!! Couldn't touch it for the price.

Very stiff sidewall, which gave GREAT road feel... and excellent in the rain!

I had the Kuhmo ECSTA 712 on my Eclipse love the tire.
Had the Falken on my Camaro also pretty good.

I also have the C230K, Why dont you want to keep the ContinentalContact2 the car came with? Price? I have the same tires on my Z.

I've used the Sumitomo HTRZ2 in 225/45R17 and loved them. Good with noise, excellent longevity.. had no problems.

If performance is not the main goal...then go with a tire that has a "H" speed rating..Will give alot better ride quality, and last longer..If It was my choice..Michelin Pilot XGT H4, or Pilot HX MXM4..2nd choice would be the BFG's
