Question Running aftermarket 17x9s, what size tires to use?

Hi all, I just got a set of used Enkei RPF-1 s in 17x9, +35 offset all around(thanks Pat Saunders!!), and I am wondering what size tires I should be using. Also, what brands does everyone recommend for cheap performance tires?
Any input is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I ran 275/40-17 Yokohama AO32R H-compound all around on my 17x9 Enkei RPO2J... plenty of grip at the track...

It depends, if you want to keep the diameter as close to the stock set up you would go 255/45 front and 265/45 rear

But then, if I lower the car, won't there be more a chance of the tires rubbing on the fender well? (I really don't want to roll the fenders)
Also, what difference does it make if I keep the diameter close to stock?
Thanks

You do run the risk of rubbing with a taller tire, but that depends on the wheel offset a lot as well. You can run anything from a 205 to a 275, maybe more, on a 9" wheel. Diameters vary, so you'll have to play around with a calculator and find a decent one.

On my Enthusiast model I have run four different tire sizes and diameters. I don't think it matters much on a car with TCS, mainly looks, fittiment and gearing. I have heard stories about it affecting VDC operation, so you'll have to investigate if you have VDC. So far I've used 26.68, 26.25, 25.68 and 24.72 diameters and haven't noticed anything different except gearing.

I use Falken Azenis 245/45 all around. Pretty cheap and good performance. Slightly smaller diameter so the speedo is off a little but also a poor mans final drive change
