Default Front Single Tire Replacement Question

I mentioned in another thread about replacing just one tire. I went and spoke with the Tire place and they said I did have a pro-rated warranty on the tire (pilot a/s), since I ran over a nail.

The question is whether to pay $100.00 for the new tire or should I buy two new tires? I am wondering about the performance since the other front tire has 7/32 tread left. The tires are pretty expensive, so I really don't want to buy two when I only need to replace one.

Any suggestions?
Will this increase the change of tire feathering?
Decrease performance?

Not sure if Michelin's have 10/32 or 8/32 on a new tyre. Either way, there is plenty of tread left and if I were you, i'd just buy 1 new tyre. Then try it and if I could notice a performance difference (ie car was unbalanced / skittish etc), then I'd buy the 2nd tyre.

OEM MIchelin tread depth is 10/32nds. Buy just one tire. You should be okay. If this were a rear tire, I would say buy two. The "stagger" between right and left tire diameters would put undue wear on the limited slip differential.

This will not cause tire feathering or abnormal wear will it?

You can't patch the tire?
