Default Rear Driver Side Clunk Sound

The car is on Hotchkis Sways and Tein Flex. The Teins are lowered as far as they go.

I get a very light clunk that I can feel thru the chassis on soft bumps... very small cant hear it with windows down or music on.

I put the car in the air, took off the wheel, took out the shock and spring, unbolted the swaybar... then I was pushing the suspension up and down freely and I can hear it in there, but I cannot tell where it is coming from.

Anyone ever had this happen??

Its driving me crazy!

check every bolt and nut related to the alignment, sways and the coilovers to be sure...this has happened to me during an alignment before and the shop forgot to tighten a bolt....this was after two other shops had looked at it for the same problem and couldn't figure it out....the sound was deceiving and not coming fromi the location of the actual problem

If you have the first generation Tien Flex, as I do, then it's a common problem. There's a nut that will not stay tight in the rear...don't know which one. My shop is using 60lbs. torque and thread adhesive to try and solve. A seach on "Tien clunking" should find a couple of threads on this...not more than a month ago.

As usual search was not working so I bumped the threads up for you...hth

Hey phunk, did you ever get this fixed? I know it's an old thread, but I've got the same problem (very slight clunk) and my mechanic and I can't track it down. We even recently installed new shocks and springs and checked every nut and bolt involved. Clunk is still there.
