Default Question for the Road Racers

I have very little $$ to spend on this setup, but I went to the track and had a little issue w/ understeer -- pretty severe. I have 255's on teh back and 225's on the front. Here's my question (regarding a cure for understeer).

Should I ... 1) Invest in some 245s or 255s to put on the front (i have toyos on so it'll be around $400)

2) Buy a set of swaybars and keep the same tires

3) Other suggestions?

BTW, I'm going to wait on springs/struts as I'm going coilovers whenever I get enough money. I just want the best temporary solution for my stupid understeer! Thanks!

IMO, the quickest and arguably cheapest fix is to invest in some 245s for the front

Switch the 255s and the 225s and that will surely cure your understeer!

Seriously thought, if you can only afford one of those, I would probably vote for the sways just for tunability sake. If the 245s don't cure it to your liking, there isn't much else you can do. But, the 245s would probalby be a more "elegant" solution (better to have a better balanced tire setup than the sway bars correcting other problems within the suspension).

Go with the swaybars. You did not mention if you drive your track setup on the street, but getting larger fronts will make your TCS/VDC/EBC act weird when engaged on the street.

Larger tires will not affect your VDC on the street. The TCS and yaw sensors are in the rear wheels anyways. I've only had some quarks with EBC on the track when I trail-brake.

get the 245s up front...you'll feel that more than the sways

i've ran 245f / 255r before with no vdc problems. it will still understeer a little, but not as bad as your current setup imo.

My original thought was to just do the 245s up front (i have an enthus so no vdc worries) and do all the suspension work later. The thing is that I daily drive the car, but soon am going to get into tracking it pretty often (at least once a month). So, I don't want it to be tail happy, but I want it to be a little more forgiving when I miss the apex @ the track. Thx guys.

245s in the front would be the ideal solution then.
