Default bridgestone potenza Tires

Anybody have a tire go flat on them after six months?
I do not see any punctures as yet, need to get the tire off the rim to see from the inside. I must have driven on it a little as I started getting that burning rubber smell, so I stopped and got out and looked and found my right rear going flat.. as in it still had air in it but was in process of deflating. The inside side walls are now melted open in two spots, hence the rubber smell. Anybody out there have anything similar?
Anybody have recomendations for a solid touring tire, I do no track and do not plan on using the car as a snow plow this winter.
Help me Obi Wan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not a big fan of the crackstones. Burn them and get a different set. I've found these tires to have the same performance and quality as paper mache.

The SO-3 Pole Position tires post pretty good results but given my dissatisfaction with the stock tires I decided against buying another Bridgestone.

I recently put on a new set of the Michelin Pilot Sport and have noticed a huge improvement especially on wet roads and would recommend them for everyday driving with the upside of being able to track them if desired. The Pilot Sport PS2 tires look to have even more traction but if you're not going to the track it probably is not worth the $. IMO

S03s are very good tires, one of the best street tires you can get. The S2000 came out with S02s, which are the older version of the S03s.

Chances are if the tire went flat and had no puncture, the valve stem broke. Those things break sometimes, I guess that's what happens when you support a 3200lb car by tires filled with air, and the only thing keeping the air in the tires are 4 cent pieces of rubber.

There are a zillion good replacement tires if you don't want to use the RE040s. The Sumitomo HTRZII's, Falken Azenis ST115, Dunlop FM901, Potenza S03, Sumitomo HTRZ, Yokohama ES100... take your pick. If you're gonna be a snow plow but want something decent on pavement, the Sumitomo HTRZ is a good tire - cheap, good in the wet, good in the dry. tirerack.com sells them

S03's are a huge improvement over OEM - - check tirerack.com for comparisons and ratings.

I have the 2003 stock enthusiast 17 inch tires. Tire dealer I was a at a few months ago to replace a tire because of road hazard said that the bridgestone S03 did not come in my stock sizes. Has that changed or the z's with 17 inch wheels going to a different size S03? Or is it just z's with 18 inches using S03s? Thanks
