I'll admit my ride quality went down even with 19 inch rims.

I had 28LB 18 inchers on my Cobra and noticed a decrease in acceleration and suspension rebound...not a wise choice for a sports car.

I have the thruxtons in 20" on my g35. I love them. I have Michelin Sport 245/35 in front and 275/35 in back. Only thing that changed my ride quality was road noise, but not by much. The car feels like it is still on stocks. I don't have a drop on my car yet. Car doesn't look 4x4 though.
I did 15.0 sec 1/4 mile at LACR with them on. better than a 350z with 19" that was there one night. Oh and by the way my car is bone stock.

I would think a 20" wheel would severely degrade both handling and ride quality. Also, put extra stress on transmission. I am not quite sure why many ppl think they look good, I blame mainstream hip hop. I would think a nice 18" wheel with a moderate profile tire and a tasteful drop would look far better. It is a sports car, why not make your highway run to work even more fun?

Didn't severely degrade my handling and ride quality.
Oh and don't blame hip hop they are not the ones making these wheels.

a friend of a friend in Japan told me that nearly no one does 20"s on their g35's, and cars in general over there. He also stated that 19's on a G35 are perfect whether you do or dont get a drop. this guy knows alot about cars and alot of other "experts" told me the same. which is the reason I went with 19"s for my car

I will take some pics for you. I have the 20" with no drop. The only pics I have now are with my camera phone so the quality isn't that good.

I ended up doing Hotchkis Springs and 20" Thruxtons, it definitely does hurt performance and ride quality, but the looks almost make it worth it.

I love the way the 20's look, I just plan on switching to a forged 20" wheel in the future to lighten it up a bit.

I have 20" 3 piece forged wheels, and they wiegh only a little more the the stock 18"s. But the handling feels better in turns ... but I'm running much wider than stock, 20x9.5 fr and 20x11 rears. Ride quality feels the same. As for the look comparing the 18s and 20s ..well the 20s look better And not because of the mainstream hip hop.

Exactly, many exotics run 20s in the rear and 19s in the front. How's that hip hop?

rayden2001....your car is the only one i have seen that look good with 20's....to me they appear way too big for the size of the car...otherwise i think 19's look the best

the only thing 20's look good on are trucks and suv's...but to each his own

i love the 20's i had on my car and am now getting another set of 20's...i wanted a change. sure the acceleration went down slightly, but that is why the stock wheels are put on for racing.

A few of my friends have 19's and they look good, but they leave a gap. the 20's took care of that gap without having to modify the suspension. I just didn't want to mod the suspension until the warranty is gone.

To each his own though...but I love my 20's

well if the gt comes with stock 20's that might be a different story....i am sure porche engineered the gt with that size tire for performance and not looks....ya think?

i just don't think 20's look that good on a z....thats what i'm saying...but as long as you like your 20's thats what counts....peace out

Yes, it does come stock with 20s in the rear.

I haven't seen the Z with 20s in person but the G (with it's very large wheel area) with 20s look great. I'm leaning to a compromise with 19s in the front.

well you have a point there...seeing the look in person is a must before buying a set of expensive rims.

i have not seen the g yet with 20's but with the car also being larger than the z it might look good.

i have seen 19's in person on both the z and on the g and they both look great....much better than 18's imo.

i guess it all depends on what your after: looks, performance, ride quality, etc....

IMO 20's are just right on the car since it has bulging fenders and monster fender wells. Mine don't look all that big in person.

Just saw a dyno chart of someone with 20" TSW wheels in another thread... wasn't pretty at all.

Thanks for the nice feedback on my car, but yeah you gotta see them in person, some 20"s do look gaudy on the g and z. I thought the same way as you do on the 20"s ... I thought it would look too much like a "bling" factor and look stupid on the z. But then I saw a z with 19" wheels , then said sweet I gotta get 19s. Then I saw mr.b's Z with 20" Jlines and said no freakin way those are 20s... and I had to buy them, but they had to be forged for the lighter weight since its a bigger wheel.
