Stock Rims

What are the biggest tires (width) we can put on stock rims.... Are there any of you guys out there that have done 255.... I do have the stock 17's...how wide are those rims any way?

Stock...
17x7.5 (offset 30) for the front wheels w/Potenza RE040 225/50/R17.
17x8 (offset 33) for the rear wheels w/ Potenza RE040 235/50/R17.

I'm running 275/40/17 kumho 710s on the front and back for auto-x if that helps you any.
