Default Will Tire Pressure Sensors (TPS) from a G35 work on the Z?

I have an 2005 Z which has tire pressure monitoring standard. I need to get an extra set of sensors for my new wheels. I have an oppurtunity to buy some sensors from the owner of a 2004.5 G-coupe. Will the TPS from the G35 work? I thought the G35 did not have the same tire pressure monitoring system (i.e., the G35 does not have the ability to relay specific tire information).

yes they should because one day I was driving by a non Z nissan, and I registered 35 psi on my air display when I have no air pressure monitors installed anymore.

I was under the impression that your car needs to be configured for specific TPS sensors so it doesn't make sense that you detected someone else's TPS.

I had one of mine replaced with a sensor from a G35. The part number matched my others. I just had to have the dealership "marry it" to the receiver in my car.

Yes - Nissan/Infiniti buys their systems from Schrader.

Yes, that'll work as they are indeed identical parts.

If however you're thinking of using two full set of tires with TPS that will not fly. Each sensor has an unique ID which must be registered into the on-board system and it has provision for only 4 sensors (1 full set) at one time. So, by registered the new set to the system ... it'd drop the previous 4.

BTW ... it is possible that specialP actually picked up someone else's TPS. These are non-critical and low-security items, which would mean only so many unique IDs are employed. My guess is 256 variations (simple 8-bit).

They are both the same part number... you will have to have them re-programmed to your car though...
