This is a common question for members, and I have compiled some test results to help with your selection.

Unfortunately, the CR data is of dubious value - it's from 2003. Most of those models have been discontinued, updated or superseded.

More recent survey data can be found on the Tire Rack website - for example:

since this chart is so old, where would the "tire experts" on the forums say the Falken 452's are ranked?

i recently bought some BFGoodrich GForce.. they perform very well and the price is good. The only bad thing was I bought the tires from DiscountTire.com and their local discount tire center store didn't mount one of the tires properly so I was getting a slow leak. The problem was solved after remounting.

Very decent tires. The 452s were improved on from the older Falken GRB line which are discontinued. If you are looking for a performance oriented tire then the 452s are better than the toyos. The toyos will probably last longer because of the harder compound but IMO the side walls are weaker than the 452s. This is a good non bargin discount model that won't break your bank like the PS2s and Advans.

The Goodyear F1 GS-D3's for sure. Got a set in March and they are fantastic! Tremendous grip and much better ride in all conditions.

+1 on the F1 GS-D3s! Superb grip in wet and dry! Those tires that outperform it in the dry have poor wet grip.

BF Goodrich G-Force KDWII's. That's what I have on my car now and they were great even with the turbo on.

Nice and stiff sidewalls for more confident cornering and excellent grip. The ONLY thing that can be a possible drawback is the longevity of the tires. They could last a little longer but because of their ability to stick to the ground, they lose some tread life.

Being as that the Z is not a daily driver, this was an acceptable compromise and I am glad I did it. I love BF Goodrich.

Toyo's= weak sidewalls.
KDW IIs FTW!

I've got the Michelin PS2's, but at 400 a tire, I'd consider an alternative.

If they are the stock potenzas of the '03-'06s , the bleachers must be pretty lonely if it isn't sunny out.

i have had in front Dunlops 9000, RE050, Falken 512 and Pirellis. The stickiest tire of all of them, and I know because it is the only one were the ABS practically doesn't come in at all are the Pzero Rosso. Best tire I ever had. In any car. The braking grip is insane. Now I know why Porsches use them.
