Help with wheels and offset
Hey guys, I'm looking for 15" wheels.
Basically, I need something that's cheap (< $100 for 2 wheels), lightweight (preferably less than 15 lbs each), and 7-9" in width. My fenders are rolled, so the offset doesn't have to be the traditional Z offset (can be a bit aggressive, if those even exist).
Does anybody know what wheels fit the above criteria? I know of a few 15x7 wheels (rx7 and mustang), but I'm just trying to see what other wheels there are.
Thanks in advance.
edit - Also, if somebody could answer the following, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Will I have fitment/rubbing issues going with a 15"x8" wheel with an offset of +6 (or 4.75" backspace) in the rear? The tire will be 25.9" tall and has a tread width of 8.1".

That's why I said I'm looking for a set from another car.
I've found some cheap wheels, but the offset is +6. I'm not sure if I could roll on those, especially my car squats way the hell down when I'm at the drag strip launching.

I dont even think they will fit over the brake caliper. Thats why I thought you where joking.
Are you running just 15's in the rear? if rear only i think a 16-17 would be the smallest. Go measure the diameter by taking the radius of the hub to max caliper and X2. then go measure the inside of 15" wheel hubs which will most likely 14 to 13.5"

Thanks, Mike.
Yeah, I had 26x9 slicks before on 15x8 Weld wheels (very good drag racing set up). I sold the set that I had, but I'll be getting mikez97's slicks pretty soon, so I need some 15" wheels to mount those on.
You guys give me too little credit. I've been a member for a while now, did my research, and even had a set up similar to what I'm inquiring about. I'm no noob.
BTW, for 03-05 models (excluding those with Brembos), 15" wheels are the smallest ones you can get. For 06+ and Brembo package models, you'll need 16" wheels (some 16" wheels may not fit over the Brembos, however).

I'm seriously considering these, unless something better and/or cheaper comes up relatively soon.

The only pictures I can readily find are taken from my friend in Virginia's Civic Si.

I'm not sure from where they were purchased, but if you like, I can hit him up.

I don't care about how the wheels look (almost don't care at all) since they'll only be on at the drag strip.
I checked out their line-up (only at 1 site) and I don't recall seeing one that is 15x8 and in our bolt pattern size. Also, does it have 2 X's or 1?

I do like this one (same as your friends, almost):

I just did a quick search on their line up. The only wheel that fits our bolt pattern with my above requirements, have +38 offset (for FWD) so it won't work. They're much more expensive than I'm willing to spend (~330, in which case I'd be better off buying real drag racing wheels that are much lighter and stronger).
Thank you for your help though. Please don't hesitate to post up if you find other wheels that may interest me.
Right now, I'm leaning toward the Cragars or the Mustang wheels (3 diff sets).

Lots of comments, but only few are helpful.
Drag racing is all about going as fast as you can from start to finish, yes? With wider wheels/tires you increase air resistance. You want maximum traction with least resistance as possible. Most people don't know what sticky tires feel like (trust me), and they think the wider the better. Aesthetically, that may be so, but you want the just enough traction to get you off the line without spinning. Hence, my reason for getting 9" slicks before and a 8.5" slicks now. Because the 8.5" slicks have a tread width of 8.1", and you want +/-1" for wheel width, I asked for help in finding a 7-9" wide wheel.
I understand that many of you guys aren't knowledgeable or experienced in this area and are only used to the "popular trends," but I assure you my reasoning is perfectly sound.
