ZOHR "The Basement" Thread [General Off-Topic Ramblings]
Damn it's cold! Is everyone off for MLK tomorrow? I'm waking up uber early tomorrow and heading up to Wintergreen for some Snowboarding with some friends. Can't wait to break in my new bindings a little more and hit the terrain park.

Dag that sucks Mike.
I'm always up for snowboarding so keep me posted. I spent 4 days at Snowshoe early on in the season and this is only my 2nd trip since then but hope to go more. Wintergreen and Mass-o-nothin are so much closer. I've never been to Mass but I heard they have a pretty nice terrain park.

Wintergreen's conditions were definitely on point yesterday for MLK. That weekend is typically extremely busy as well but I assumed it wouldn't be too bad with the inauguration going on. I think that stopped a lot of NoVA/MD/DC people from coming down due to the traffic.
It was mainly all man made snow but it was very powdery especially Cliffhanger and Wild Turkey. We spent most of the day at their park however and had a damn good time. I'm still pretty much a noob in my opinion and never really hit any jumps until yesterday. Then I got brave enough to ride this 20' sewage-type pipe they had in the park. I landed about 2 outta the 5 attempts on that. Now I'm definitely feeling the pain from some of those falls.

I have some ramblings.....
Yesterday ole' girl and i woke up and decided to go test drive some cars since we had the day off work.
Drove a 911 Turbo, a Carerra, and a 370Z.
Impressions....
Carerra....Insane Porsche handling, looks, and quality. But lacked torque, power, sloppy cable shifter, and had weak to zero exhaust note.
911 Turbo....Insane in all aspects!! Amazed i didn't end up in jail by the end of the drive. Never felt a$$ planting torque and grip like this in my life!!
370Z touring 6MT.....interior was a work of art!!! And the exterior is way better in person, althought it's still a lil ricey for my taste.
The good ended there.
The torque we have all grown to love is gone, completely gone!!!
I know it has more HP then the others. But it certainly didn't feel like it by any means. And it has no exhaust note whatsoever!! I really wanna like the 370, but i just can't now after that drive. It was seriously like driving a Maxima with a Z body around it.
Handling was on par with a stock 350.

The power and torque are definitely there. I initially had an '04 Z with the stiffer and less forgiving transmission shared with the '03-'05s before I bought my '07.
Guys were hitting 12.9-13.1 with bone stock VQ35HR's so I'm sure the 370z would be in the 12.7-12.8 range (or slightly better) with a good driver.
What I still don't like about the 370z is the headlight bulge, ugly front bumper, and huggggggge gas cap. Some of it can easily be modified but stock for stock form, I prefer the '07+ Z in the looks dept.

This is a great comparison vid against the 135i too. I like the new 370z exhaust note!

It sounds good from the outside, but i can hardly hear it from the inside which for me is half the experience..

I may have forgotten what a stock Z feels like, but it seemed be blah to me.
I consider myself a decent driver at the track, and my best since the blower is 12.9.
So if what you are saying is correct, i guess with some work i could get in the mid 12s then since i'm making considerably more then 333 hp.

I'm actually not tied to a desk so I can get up and leave whenever I like. My main desk is in Greenbriar but I support sites from the beach to West Point. If I'm not here, I'm at one of those sites or on my laptop at home on VPN.
Today just seems to drag for some reason.
