LFA v. 2012 GTR: Drag Race
By Edmunds Inside Line, first seen (by me) on nagtroc, it's amazing (i.e. I was surprised by the disparity):

You do realize the Veyron a W12, AWD, 1001hp/923tq 2million dollar car... is only .2's faster in the 1/4 mile? The GTR is also almost .5's faster than an Enzo in a 0-60 sprint at 2.9 to 3.4 and the car cost about $700,000.00, so whats your point? That Nissan is faster than most production cars... in the whole world. The LF-A is old technology that was on and off for about 10yrs and its the first of its kind, most people don't understand that it was made for the car enthusiast that can afford it and not to break land speed records. Motor Trend or C&D voted the LF-A over a Ferrari 599... a Lexus over a Ferrari, wow.

the LFA was back on the launch quite a bit, slow reaction time was pretty apparent....so i bet the driver of the LFA was far less capable then the GTR driver, but damn dude.. Ill take driver skill level disparity for 275k less any day of the week.. nice try Lexus.

So most "enthusiasts" knock on the GT-R because it takes out "driver's skill" to drive that car, and that launch control is part of that deal. You can nail a great launch almost every single time if you follow the right steps. Kind of unfair, yeah, but that's how it works!

I understand the LFA was not made to break land speed records. I actually like LFA's. It has tons of incredible features and a stunning exhaust note.
I was just saying that it is amazing that Nissan has a car out that outperforms(at least in a straight line) a very very expensive car. That's the point, and I think it is a shocking and valid point to be made and praised for the company that made the car most of us drive. Chill

Nissan cars has always been quick. The dissidents or non-knowledgeable folks are the one's talking out their rear end like it is a surprise to see such greatness from Japan Import . GTR is the BOSSSSSSSS aka Godzilla
