Default Finally got the LCD screen installed..

After waiting almost a month to get my TV screen exchanged with millionbuy.com, I finally got everything put back together. I bought the Power Acoustik PT-700MHR (same as farenheit) and it stopped working, so I shipped it back to them for an exchange. The new one I recieved didn't have the same metal casing on the back as the first one.. it had a thicker plastic back with vent holes in it. This proved to be an issue with using the 4 screw holes on the side to hold the screen in place. But without further adieu..

I downloaded the Nissan background from here. I like how it gives the screen a somewhat "factory" appearance.

Also got the Xbox hooked up in the cubby behind the passenger seat. Will post some pics of everything else tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who has provided me with the valuable information I needed to complete this install.

Preciate it. They are nice for sure! I am actually going on a beach trip next week with a few buddies and whoever is riding down with me will be sure to have the entertainment part of the trip covered.

Thanks to Paul350Z - his thread from June of 2005 is where I first got the idea to do this install.
And also to Spike100 - you have been very helpful as well

Looks very OEM and clean. Wish the 06's had a cubby made for an easy screen install.

Very nice install! I really like the Nissan logo on the “splash” screen. Looks OEM. You’re going to love that Power Acoustik PT-700MHR LCD (great picture quality and not an expensive screen). This should be a very good display for the Xbox.

Please do post pictures of your Xbox solution. That is of interest to a lot of us here. If I remember correctly, you have the new model which requires a lot of power. (Is the line in the lower din space for the Xbox?)

The screen is great, but the single DIN head unit looks AWFUL.

Why does it look awful to you? Not flaming, just curious.

Personally I like having the open lower din space where I store my remotes (Garvin, Clarion, and Power Acoutik remotes). That is also the future home for an iPod I plan to add.

He thinks it looks awful because you didn't spend $2,000 to get a double din dvd player installed there!

No id say because the bezel around the outside doesnt seem to be flush.

Nice screen install though.. Mind posting some details on how you mounted it? What parts you needed?

Budweiser4me did a great job, and added some more on top of this (his splash screen). The Xbox addition is really interesting. That wasn't easily done since the new model requires a lot of power.

EDIT: But may have missed bb1314's point since the trim piece does fail covering some gaps.

I'm not trying to flame neither. I'm just stating my opinion. You see those huge gap around your head unit? I'm not hating on single DIN, it's just that this one really does look weird. There are plenty of other options as to where the ipod could sit.

PS: My roommate just saw the picture. He knows absolutely nothing about cars.. He doesn't even know the difference between single/double DIN, but he noticed that gap around the head unit.

I think that the head unit is very flush and that is why it looks like that. If you have it try using the ISO brackets and cover panel for the front. I did that and it looks really clean. Problem with my Alpine is that the eject button is on the top and the side and you can't really press it in without popping it in almost.

I think your install looks awesome!

bb1314: So you are saying that he should go with a double din just because of the gap below? Not all of us can afford a $2,000 double din just because of the "look" of it. If you wanted the extra functions and had the money then it would be a different story.

Dude.... can you freaking read? Read my previous posts. I stated the SAME thing that you just stated. I have no problem against single din. I just think this single din looks bad because of the gap.

Yes… I see your point and cannot disagree. It was only the “awful” statement that seemed somewhat harsh.

Budweiser4me has put a lot of effort into his project. He has also done an Xbox install (not common or easy since the newest Xbox he is using requires a lot of power). This is his thread and I’d like to see him have control here.

Seemed to me like you were hating on the gap and the hole under it where the ipod sits. Your statement sounded like "get a double din so you don't have the slot underneath and put your ipod in another place".

+1... If you're going to post picture of something, expect both positive and negative feedbacks. Pride could only bring you so far in life.

Hey ok I have class all day Tuesday and Thursday so I'm just now getting to my computer. I appreciate all the comments.

Spike - I am still working on getting everything setup for the Xbox 360. I have ordered a 700amp converter and plan on hard wiring the converter to my battery through the firewall so I can connect the 360. Since I am heading to the beach this weekend I threw my regular Xbox in the car. Still looks pretty good. I have a wireless controller for it with some Forza and Grand Theft Auto :-) Again, thanks for your help!

bb1314 - Agree to disagree. Everyone has their own opinion and I respect yours. I just didn't see why I should spend more money to have 2 TV screens in the same dash

Also, the cable in the small cubby below the head unit is for my iPod.

I am about to go outside and take some more pics right now and will post them up ASAP. Thanks for all the feedback.

Here you go..

Tila Tequila background - apparently I can switch between 2 backgrounds so I have this one and the Nissan one above.

Burned a DVD with some music videos on it.

The Xbox and the input switch.

Where I store my wireless controller and remotes. Notice the cheap power inverter until I get my new one

Some random pics of Forza Motorsport.

Quick Reply: Finally got the LCD screen installed..
