Unofficial but likely leasing rates and info
Hi all,
Just got a call from a friend with some numbers for leasing a Z. These are NOT confirmed.
For leases up to 36 months a money factor of 0.0027 or 6.5%.
For leases from 39 to 60 months a money factor of 0.0028 or 6.75%.
The residuals (expressed as a percentage of MSRP) are:
Months: Residual
24 62
36 54
39 53
42 51
48 47
Plan to do some math now. Will post later.
Also, he was not certain if different models would have differing residuals, but did not "think" so.

God, I hope those are not the numbers... With those residuals, they (ALG) is putting this car on the same level as a saturn or worse a toyota corolla!
I was kinda hoping for a better residual curve like:
Month Residual
24 64
30 61
36 59
39 57
42 55
48 53
I suspect that ALG is not going to take a beating like they have in the past for over inflating residuals.

Hey, thanks for the info on the lease rates.
Anyone know how or if residuals would differ between US and Canada? My dealer has confirmed a 48 month residual of 53% on the Z (as of August 1st).
I have been using 9% in my calculations as a 'worst case scenario'. Definitely a big difference in final numbers when I plug your rates into my equation.

Figures
The way I have it figured using the above numbers, for an adjusted capital cost of $31,950, a two year lease, the base payment would be $461 + your states sales tax. These are assuming the figures given in this post are correct (62% residual for a 24 mth lease @ 6.5% int). This may give some of you an idea of the lease payment.

I have leased 2 cars (trucks)
I think i will buy the next....... payments are like $100.00 month more.
keep the thing for 5 years and make payments and you will have about $10,000.00 in your pocket at the end of buying your ride.

lease residual
Nissan has provided ALG with a Z to drive this week. They have not finalized their residual factor yet. There is still hope for a better number than posted above.

nokidz,
ALG residual numbers are a compilation of leasing companies, insurance input and bank feedback. Then they run it thru a 'black box' formula, and generate the initial residual for a new model year car. If the car model has existed for a few years, this is also factored into the the residual.
Then over the next three years, the car's residual will be adjusted periodically to compensate for the 'WAG' in the original estimate.
