Default Sell or Keep??

Well I am getting a bit bored of the Z and this month it needs an inspection.. I know it also will need rear brake pads and drive belts replaced.

Before I get this work done, should I sell?

I am having a hell of a time finding a buyer in my area (northeast). I have tried to sell on craigslist and eBay but really only lowballs or scams.

My Z is a 2004.5 touring, 6 speed and about 53,000 miles. It has new rear tires, driver window motor and battery.

Is my asking price of $12,500 too much? Was in an accident with a raccoon back in 2006 but clean title and all. KBB is about $13,500 or so in Good condition. I love the Z but storing it every year is going to be a hassle as I need to find a storage unit this year.

Thanks..

Keep it- replacing rear brake pads and accessory belts are not difficult jobs. Add to that sourcing a car cover, some decent used alloys with snow tires and you won't have to worry about storage any longer.

I have tried driving in winter when I first got my z years ago. Too difficult even with snow tires, the main issue was front end clearance and kept fishtailing.

And I agree brake pads abd drive belts are routine. It's been very reliable and fun. I wish I bought an HR but I didn't know any better as I was younger and couldn't afford more then 15k.

Honestly, I race an HR-powered Z and while there is a useful hp advantage over the DE, it's not a HUGE difference. Combine that with the CSC and clutch line difficulties, and I'd rather have a DE for the street. In fact, that's what I drive now, and while I have a garage to keep it in. I still think you should keep the Z,

^ Thanks for that advice.. I never drove a HR so I guess I was making assumptions from the guys on here saying how it's SO much better.

I've put a lot of $$ in maintenance and let's just say tires for the Z are expensive lol. I go through a set about once a year (rear tires).

You're welcome- and the HR is better- it's just not THAT much better! As for maintenance, you should see what goes into racing the Z33. For SCCA Majors competition, it's not uncommon to go through a set of R-compound tires in a single weekend.

How are you going through a set of rear tires every year when you store the year every year? What would you get if you get rid of the Z?

Well I put on about 10k per year and I drive aggressively at times. Some of the tires I owned were not too good in summer as I generally buy all season tires. I also drive until the snow sticks so the temperature gets very cold.

I already own a Civic SI so I would pay off my student loans with the cash.

Id keep it, changing the brake pads and belts should not be to much. Think of it this way, would you rather have the money you are asking for, or would you rather have a clean 350 in your garage. If your getting bored with your ride then that means its time for some upgrades/modifications
