Time 4 another round of "Name That Sound!"
I have tiish, tiiish tiish tiish tiish sound thats coming from under the hood that sound very similar to a belt. Its not very loud. And does not do it EVERY time. However, the belt is less than a year old and has no cracks or any visible damage. It seems to be either my crank pulley is loose, or its the idler pulley (Compressor side, not the one running Alt. and PS) has anyone had any experience with this? I have not isolated the noise yet, but while the car idles, I can see the inner pulley of the two-pulley assembly on the crank has a very slight wobble to it. Maybe its just my eyes playing tricks on me but thats what it looks like. But at the same time, when the vehicle cooled off, I checked for any play in the idler pulley and crank pulley with my hand to see if they were loose. The crank pulley seemed very solid. However, the idler pulley seemed to have some play back and forth (towards the engine and back to the front bumper). I know that shouldn't be. Just looking for some advice. This is an 03 with 100,000 miles now. Thanks!
