Default Best Engine Build to go with?

So today my mechanic told me I had cracked my head gasket , and the cost was enough to make me consider finally swapping engines or getting a longblock. I found this longblock http://www.importpartspro.com/st1vqloblni3.html and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it or if it is a good choice. Im up for any options but my budget is preferably 6k or less. I already have a full APS TT kit and stage 3 clutch in it, as well as a new tranny. 40k miles only. I'm up for any ideas so throw them out. I apologize if there is a post like this already, which I wouldn't be surprised. I tried searching for a similar post but the results did not bid well. Also I apologize if I am posting this in the wrong area Don't go on here often. Any build/swap/longblock ideas would be appreciated! -Matt

I would prefer to have the option to go up too 600rwhp currently I'm at 442 to the rear and 380 torque. I will keep it at 450 for the time being but the option would be nice when I want too.

If your mechanically inclined, rebuild it yourself and save some money. Parts I'd probably use for a build (for a tt setup) ARP head studs, 9:1 ish compression forged pistons, forged con rods, oem bearings with slightly looser clearances, and pretty much stock everything else. Should be able to push 600 rwhp with no issues if it's built and tuned properly. Good luck

I have one of Kyles engines and I am happy with it and I'm happy with his business. Consider the other major 350z engine builders - such as Z1 and dynosty.

If you do go with IPP, look into the stage 2 where you can get upgraded cams - which will help you get those higher output numbers.

Even with the built block, youre not out of the woods - you'll need to upgrade your fuel delivery, fuel pump, injectors, I'm assuming you have a tuning solutions, if not add money for a tuning device. Other things that should be added would be an oil cooler, crank pulley harmonic dampener. It may be a good time to rebuild your blowers, wastegates/BOV, new clutch disk, etc. All in youre probably looking $10k-$15k...

The only built VQ I would get would be from either Dynosty or SP.

Kyle is a great guy and a great engine builder, but "I" believe Dynosty and SP has the least failure rates with the VQ.
