Turn signals on 08 z
Are the turn signal bulbs, the yellow/orange ones on the very top of the headlights, required to be orange? I want pure white ones. Also, are the small leds on the sides of the headlights considered turn signals also? Basically asking general headlight questions and what is or isnt legal.

i read somewhere before that the turn signals in the front doesn't have to be amber. it only has to have an amber reflector but the signal itself doesn't have to be. i'm pretty sure it's legal in CA cuz i was looking this up when i was changing the bulbs on the e90 and a lot of th e90 guys are having white/blue front turn signals anyway.

I found chrome covered bulbs on E-Bay. They have a chrome look until turned on, then they go amber. I was looking to get rid of all the amber up front in my 05. Once I swapped out the amber strips inside the housings and added the clear reflectors in the sides of the bumper, they finished things up nicely.
Not sure on the law but I think the color of the light, when signaling, has to be amber.

I went to pep boys, autozone, and some electric company, but they all don't have sylvania silverstars that look white but light up amber. They either have all amber or all white. Does anyone know where else I can look for these? Or do the white ones from sylvania light up amber?

bimmian has the bulbs you're looking for. either chrome and blinking white/blue or chrome and blinking amber. you should check the size tho and i had 3 sets of these on my e90. they don't last that long.

Do the Front turn signals stay amber (whether or not lights are on) and just blinked off when you signal a turn on 08 models? I have a 03 and thinking of converting, Thanks!

It depends on the state you live in, but I'm pretty sure most, if not all, states require amber bulbs, but not white bulbs under amber lenses. Go to your local inspection station and check on it. I'm pretty sure it won't pass inspection if it doesn't have amber bulbs, at least that's how it is in Pennsylvania.

covers all vehicles but quotes just what covers passenger cars.
Turn signal lamps.................. At or near the front--1 amber on each side of the vertical centerline, at the same height, and as far apart as practicable.
On the rear--1 red or amber on each side of the vertical centerline, at the same height, and as far apart as practicable.
