Default Has anybody tried building a large cubby behind driver's seat (USA cars)

So on the USA cars the large cubby is behind the passenger seat. Behind the driver's seat there is a trim piece in the same basic shape.

What is behind this trim piece? (I know I know I need to look for myself). If one doesn't have the stock subwoofer couldn't the same large cubby be put there too? Seems like a waste of space to not put that there if you don't have the stock subwoofer.

Has anyone done this mod?

People have done double glove boxes and people have setup their car for woofers on both sides. Very simple

Don't know if there is a DIY on it, basically you just need a door and the cubby box. Remove the trim panel, trim it the same as the other side ( it's made to be trimmed from the factory to be a cubby or sub hole on either side, install and be done.

Self explanatory once you remove it.

I swapped mine because I left normal side open so it was easier to access the fuel pump with the rollbar in the car.
