Default Interior Scratches - Repair Discussion

Just read CiscoCerna's thread "Is this happening to you" and I have an 06 with exactly the same problem.

While I understand people thinking that CiscoCerna is abusing his car, it seems to me that this is a problem with a certain batch of the ruberized finished interiors of the 06.

Will post pictures if anyones interested.

My 06 was built in June. I have emailed JDMZ33 about the cf replacement and he says that he doesn't stock 06 panels and will need to get them made as a special order. Maybe if you're interested we could do a combined order, it might help with the cost.

YES!!! The rubberized coating has worn off the cubby switch, and the coating is wearing off the drivers side door handle (grip area). It's as if repeated touching from your hands causes it to "gunk up" or something and wear away. I keep my interior immaculate, it's not an issue of abuse either. Do other years have this issue? Or was this a bad finishing process for 2006 only?

My '06 was built in June as well. This should be replaced as a warranty item IMO.

i think it should be replaces as a warranty item also. and yes, its only the 06s. all other years have some sort of plastic instead of the rubber finish.

It will be tough to convince the dealer that this is a warranty issue... Im not sure how we could go about that.

Perhaps we should all post pictures of the damage, that would show that the issue is not just isolated to an individual car.
