Default On top of getting XO2 exhaust...

I didn't like the way the tips looked after gettin the system installed. They were really thin, and just didn't flow right with the rest of the car. So, my solution was this: Put the original Nismo tips in place of the XO2 tips. After 3 hours of careful measuring, cutting, and welding, the Nismo tips are on, and they look great!! Much better than before. The rolled tips really accentuate the look alot better than the thin HKS style tips, in my opinion. This was done at Roy Hendrick's Muffler and Automotive shop (yes, of Hendrick's motorsports). Roy is a very talented man. A perfectionist. I think they came out great. 3 hours time. Cost? 50 bucks because I'm his favorite customer

Am I reading this right? You cut up one of the best exhausts for the Zed, that was original and then you mounted the tips on a copy exhaust? Thus rendering the nismo useless!

Yes I did. Not like they can't be taken off again and put back onto the stock exhaust..if need be.

Not feeling that at all mate, it seems to sit far too low. I think a custom exhaust might have been an easier option!

then the HKS sits too low then? There's plenty of ground clearance, me thinks. Aside from the tips, which was a custom job, i removed the H pipe and the resonators, and put in place the Magnaflow X pipe/muffler in place. Exhaust sounds very good, in my opinion.

I hope you don't mean the ACTUAL nismo exhaust. Because the exhaust that comes on the 07-08 Nismo z is the same as a normal z, with just nismo engraved tips and a slightly tuned muffler. Nothing new, I think.

Last picture shows what he did to the nismo muffler. It's hard to make the back end of the nismo look good because of the functional design. With the nismo muffler you see the connection to the mid pipe looks bad to me,you see everything under neath the car. I'm not looking at the rear of the car when i'm driving, like most of you are.

Looks good and i'm sure it sounds better than stock with more power because of what you did. Enjoy

Yeah I thought the rolled tips looked better, as well. I think it came out as clean as the technician could do it. Spent quite a bit of time on it. Thanks again!

You are correct. They were just 3" or 4" tips welded on to the stock exhaust.

So its not a nismo like you pay $1200 for?

Does look better that stock as you dont see the large centre muffler section and see more of the suspension etc!

It was a very simple install. He removed the old resonators and h pipe and replaced it with the magnaflow x pipe/ muffler combo. Part number is 14386 go to performancepeddler.com. Make ur offer and they will give u a price of 95 bucks shipped. Msrp on the pipe is over 200 bucks direct. It sounds great!!!
