Default G35 NA stroker with ITBs

We appreciate Paul (IvoryGT) bringing his car to us for a 4.15L NA stroker with one of the first ITB setups. As I write this we are delivering the car back to him, so please be patient with us for questions.

The build consisted of an Injected/BC 4.15L street-compression stroker with stock heads and BC 272 cams, valves and springs - all held together by L19 head studs and an IP billet main girdle. We did a quick Haltech Platinum tune in order to get the car back to the customer in time for body modifications before an event coming up. There is still more power to unlock especially in the heads, which we hope to do after the customer has enjoyed his car for a bit. The very limited time I drove the car, it was a blast!

We have built a number of these stroker VQs from 300-1300HP and this one went together flawless as usual. Of course working on NA cars is a breath of fresh air compared to the normal FI setup with pipes, lines, and turbos everywhere. The individual throttle bodies perform well and delivered worthwhile gains all the way through and make all the difference in high-end power. The peak hp increased 26whp, but at 7500rpm gains of 50+whp were unlocked over the stock plenum with spacer. Combined with a Haltech Platinum, the sysem idles well and throttle response is awesome. The core Jenvey ITB pieces are quality, but serious time needs to be spent finalizing it before they can ship it as a "kit". Many issues had to be overcome for installation such as fuel rails, throttle cable, valve cover swap and more.

The dynos below are pure DynoDynamics numbers, not Dynojet or fairy-tale numbers like we have seen in the past. The comparison dyno explains that well, look at the gains! 19% increase in displacement and 39% increase in power over stock!

5th gear dyno pull:

4th gear dyno comparison of:
Red = 4.15L stroker with ITBs
Blue = 4.15L stroker with plenum spacer
Green = Stock nonrevup 350Z with plenum spacer

Really awesome, I am interested to see how much power this setup can make with more time invested.

It is great to see the VQ coming of age and more options for enthusiasts.

Congrats.

How high did you rev it out to on the last pull (the red line)?

Top notch. Glad to see ITB's making it onto the scene outside of racing teams. Congrats, guys.

The kind of work and dedication that was put forth is inspiring and worthy of admiration. Lord knows the nightmares I put them through with this build, however it was still executed flawlessly.

Only thumbs up from me for Hal and Greg at Injected Performance.

Thank you Hal for your time on this set up .I am glad that you had the ***** to do this to show that it works with some mods the kit you had is a for the vq35 engine but not for the 350z .The hood on the 350z has f--ked us over for some time and i was at the point to say f--k it due to all the calls i had that it would not work and the price was to highthere are more kits out with a bigger price tag on them than we have but it is ok .The air box and the new air horns will be at the PRI show in Orlando on the engine to fit the 350z
You all have Hal to thank on this one he was in the driving seat to the end
THANK YOU HAL keep doing your thing

Thank you Paul and Hal for showing what these bodies can do. I'm sure that with more time to tune you will find more power. Can't wait to see the video as i love the way thses engines sound with the bodies.

good stuff guys, very nice build, enjoy it!

How was the Haltech able to deal with the cable throttle? Any CEL's as a result of removing the stock throttle body?

Hal, how do you think the ITB's compare to the Cosworth intake?
