Like the title says do you guy think soon Nissan will get rid of the manual transmission and change it to paddles?
Just a thought.

That's what I'm afraid of. If it happens I'll buy out the lease and keep it for life TT it, but If not i'll just continue to get a new one until announced.

One of my dads friends is a big wig for one of the major mfg's and he said like year or so ago, that they and all major manufactures are going to auto only production.
Manual cars require separate factories, added costs, separate assembly, not to mention less and less people are actually buying M/T cars. And it's just getting worse with paddle shifting technology becoming more common and standardized.
He said by 2020 - 2025 all cars should be paddle or A/T.
Sucked to hear but it's real. He went into full detail about why A/T is a no brainer for them. They are just working out the figures to make it happen.

Yup.
What use to be cheaper and more cost effective is now a more expensive option to offer and construct.
As much as I hate it, it's starting to become hard to beat. My girls 2016 accord sport goes from 30 -80 mph and literally stays at 4K RPM then entire acceleration. The needle literally doesn't move which I still do not understand. I know it's an 8spd trans but it doesn't even make sense, It's a trip. Which is how the dam thing averages 42 MPG hwy and is faster than my dam Z

The Earth and sky shall become one sooner than later. Nothing inherently wrong with auto tranny for those who don't want to shift AND, arguably they are as fast as or faster in many cases but me.... Nothing like a downshift within 50rpm of perfect match.
Interestingly, my daughter drives hers down from the hills to the studio where she works.... with S/R OFF. Taught her/she learned well. Hahahahahahaha!
