HR Gallery Gaskets....Timing jump.....how screwed am I?
Well I guess I am eating some serious crow,as i failed to keep upper secondary from jumping out of
time when i removed the primary chain.
I should have removed the spark plugs because apparently I was in the middle of a compression stroke when
I relaxed the tensioner and everything up top jumped.
F#@k me......I watched numerous videos on doing this procedure and everything went fine, and my upper gallery gasket
was in the process of totally coming apart. So i am not sad about going in here, front timing cover was removed with utmost care..
So i know everything is fine down on the bottom end because i can rotate the crankshaft by hand(using lower pulley no bolt!) with absolutely no interference from the valvetrain.Sparkplugs are now removed.
Can the upper valve train assemblies be rotated to get things back in sequence without more disassembly?
What would Jesus do?
I really thought I had this.
Seriously doubting my skills right now.
Do I have to remove the valve covers/ entire upper timing chain/sprocket,vvt assembly and basically start as if i was rebuilding
a top end?
2008 base 350,32,000 miles, babied and unmolested before I got her.
Doing suspension,bushing,brake,diff,clutch,N/A build.....total nut and bolt refresh!
Thank You....you guys rock!
And shout out to Bealjik for helping to talk me off the ledge! You Rock!.....(I still might jump)

I'm at 63K miles on an '07 and the old man before me babied it, a thread like this says I shouldn't attempt but other threads still say I should buy the kit in anticipation of when, not if. No low oil pressure symptoms of any kind...
OP - all good now and since?

Have you done the gallery gasket job by now (since Aug)? How likely is it that the previous owner did it, have you put a lot of miles on her? Vortech SC too?
