Default help with valve cover/spark pulgs/coilpacks

so it all started yesturday during a 68,000 mile maintence tune up. Replaced the diff tranny and engine oil new belts and new spark plugs. Everything was going way to smoothly and i new something had to go wrong, well it did. After we were finished i went to go start the car and wouldnt you know MISFIRE!! I believe this problem was caused by not putting the right coilpacks back in the right plugs. so then today as i was redoing the problem that i started i was tightening the last bolt on the coilpack and then the bolt brakes loose. I cant get the rest of it out for the life of me. So that hole is done and not useable anymore. So what i am asking is does anyone know if i need to get a new valve cover or can i re thread that hole?? please help if you can my car is out of service until i get this resolved so i would like to take care of it as quickly as possible.. thanks again

They make extractors for bolts. Just go to your local hardware store, and tell them you need a bolt extractor. It more or less drills into the broken end of the bolt, and threads counter clockwise into the bolt.

For what it's worth, if you broke the bolt that screws into the plastic valve cover insert, you used WAY too much force. I'm surprised you didn't strip the insert out of the valve cover. A bolt extractor is your cheapest option, but if it doesn't work, a new valve cover may be required. Don't use more than 80 in-lbs on that bolt. I just get them snug and have had no problems.

Well ---all the coil packs are the same and all the wires leading to them are numbered. Personally I wouldnt panic and just put it on the "To Do List" for the future. Lube the Female that goes into the Male of the spark plug with Dielectric grease and push it down til it seats. When the day comes to replace VC gaskets, fix it right

Also grease the top seal well
