Does anyone have the steps to replace front crank shaft seal?

I know my wife's car is leaking from the front and rear, and thought I'd try to take care of the front first as it seems easier.

There’s no real instructions for a easy way to do this...

the right way to do this is to remove the engine, remove the upper oil pan to put new seals in.

last time I had my block out I replaced both with new seals and used a healthy amount RTV around the non-moving seams.

Even for the front seal the engine has to come out?

I can see you would need to remove the trans, exhaust and probably lower the upper oil pan, to do the rear seal.

Dude, do a search like this, it'll help out for tons of stuff
Go to Google.com, and in the search area - copy and past this in, change the search term in bold to whatever you need.
site:my350z.com front seal

If it's just the crank seal..
just take off the stuff in the way and use a seal puller tool or carefully with a flat screwdriver.
However, getting it back in without taking the timing cover off might prove tricky as the crank will be in your way.
FSM (EM-59)

I've only done it when refreshing all of the timing gear and cams.
I can take some photo's this weekend of the timing case if it helps ?

I did do a search and found nothing of consequence for the front...PLENTY of videos of doing the rear one .

hmm doesn't look like I need to take the timing cover off at all...using an appropriate sized big *** socket I should be able to tap that seal back in.

Watching numerous videos online, seems the hardest part is breaking that crankshaft bolt loose. Assuming I'm keeping the radiator et al. there and removing the fans solely, the issue would be access.

in 90% of the videos I saw(specifically 350z or g35) , they had the engine on a stand or ALL of the front off...
I've seen numerous videos of OTHER engines where they do the seal replacement with everything in place minus JUST enough to gain access.

yeah take a photo of what you have once the crankshaft pulley is off please.

I'm not saying it's impossible to do with the engine in the car but more often than not the people that do it this way do not ultimately fix the problem.

If you have an HR I strongly suggest you check your oil gallery gasket!
